Peyton Watson come to Utah. Perfect fit.
He plays well enough and the Nuggets will figure out how to keep him. They could match and then trade off a lesser core-piece. We’re probably already there.

Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t throw the max at him as the first order of business in free agency.

Did you say max?

Sure did. The list of two-way, long, 6’ 8” legit scoring wings is… how many long?

And yeah, max. Nuggets match and that’s painful for a divisional rival. There are too many teams with cap space and not a lot of viable targets either. He also fits what we need to a T. Gotta be aggressive, and should do something with this cap space that was so precious that we left Walker flapping in the wind.

No way in hell anyone gets close to maxing Peyton Watson lol. You offer 4/100M and Denver starts to get squeamish.

Max contract is crazy lol. DEN is already at the second apron before re-signing him. Just speculating, but I don’t think they pay the massive tax bill for him.

They will duck the tax this year so it won't be repeater I think. They could also move Zeke in a salary dump or waive and stretch. JV could move too.

I think I would come in at 4/120M BUT I would front load it and layer in a 10% bonus for making the second round of the playoffs. It would essentially be 35M in the first year on Denver's side and 32M (unless we made the second round).

I think there will be major competition for him. Full max is too much... but if someone went 40M a year I would be really surprised but not completely shocked. Two way wing who is young. With MP jr. blowing up in Brooklyn I don't think its out of the question someone can talk themselves into getting wild.

If they want to make room for Watson I'd take Braun. But they aren't going to make a trade like that mid season and hurt their winning chances this year.
