What's new

"They're Not Talked About Very Much"

And I could not care less about what the national media says about Utah unless its a guy like Zach Lowe or similarly respected writer who writes more about the xs and os

Zach also watches every team... I don't think most national media types actually watch all of the teams regularly.

I do not care what the national media says about us... or if they ignore us.

But you're done playing the Mavs, so now you'll end up 4-78.

4-13

lol
Point is, my team is relevant. We are talked about. Your team is like some low level D-League team. Worse, it's like some low level Turkish team. Play good ball but who the hell cares? We play **** ball and we still are the talk of the league. Just wait till that psycho Morris twin leads us into a brawl on the court. Front page news around the world. Jazz? Man, they can play a game on Saturn against Jesus and the 12 apostles and no one would be interested.

1...you will persist with brand loyalty because of the location of the franchise, despite the perpetual mediocrity of the franchise.

That is so incredibly sad.

2. But this insistence of continually projecting the idea of quality and success onto a bag of spicy infant feces simply because your city is legendary has to be the most sad and pathetic iteration of being a sports fan that I know of.

1. Well, is there anything wrong with loyalty? Nothing sad at all about having loyalty. If you guys had it you might have been able to keep Gordon Hayward on your team. Probably have won a championship by now.

2. You really think we love the Knicks because of New York? Uhh, the Jets are the New York Jets and we hate them. Rained like hell here Sunday and we were glad because Jet players and fans had to sit through a cold, wet, miserable day at the Stadium. Anything bad for the Jets we love. Butt fumble, fake spike, seeing ghosts, Rich Kotite….man, the worse for them, the better.

Wow. An acceptance of status quo. No anger, no desire for things to change, no fight at all in you.

Hell, my Knicks are viewed as a joke and even though we are, that view pisses all of us off. We don't like it, won't accept it. It angers us. We have fight. That's why when we get The Greek Freak next year and sign Zion in two years we will enjoy having the last laugh.

I’d love to hear your explanation of how you’re going to sign Zion in two years ?

Same way we signed Melo and Wayne Gretzky and Dikembe Mutombo and Willie Mays and Reggie Jackson and Mark Messier and Kevin Durant and Babe Ruth and Pele.... All the great ones end up here. You guys grow 'em, we take 'em.

We've signed John Starks, Tom Chambers, Danny Manning, Joe Johnson, Corey Maggette, Jason Terry, Chris Morris, Tony Danza, Christopher Lloyd, Robert Redford, and Wilford Brimley.

1. Well, is there anything wrong with loyalty?

To an organization like the Knicks? This is like asking if there is anything wrong with being loyal to Robert Hanssen. The Knicks have betrayed themselves and fans like you for decades now.

If you guys had it...

Had what? loyalty to a ****** organization?

you might have been able to keep Gordon Hayward on your team.

We got Bogey at half the $$$. Why would anyone want Hayward over Bogdonovic?

Probably have won a championship by now.

In the Warriors era? You're so dumb it hurts my tender little heart.

2. You really think we love the Knicks because of New York?

I do. And as I said before, it is astonishingly sad and pathetic.

Uhh, the Jets

Proves nothing. Perhaps you could correct me instead by elaborating on why it is you are loyal to the Knicks, and why it has nothing to do with them being in NYC.

It's not a sense of entitlement. (Man, are you off the mark.) It is a sense of fairness. A sense of what is right. The Jazz should be talked about.

Why? Papers print what sells, and small markets don't sell.

We have a newspaper guy here in NY who blasts the media because they fawn over the three point shooting offense only teams (like the Rockets). The team game of basketball is dying and yet the media still talks only about offensive juggernauts. The team play - what I see the Jazz excel at - is ignored. That's not right.

I don't expect the world to be fair or right.

Poor MTJK, he has to come to a small market team's forum for entertainment, because his big market Knicks surely aren't entertainment.

There there, bud.

No, it's because they banned me.

You see what happens in The Garden to fans that yell at Dolan, "Sell the team." Well, it's worse on the Knicks Forum. You get banned there just for giving the score of a game they lost!

I am not going to get snarky or nasty or go for some humor here. I find it very sad that one would have to explain loyalty to a sports team.

The Knicks? That's my team. That's my family's team. That's my friends' team. That's my city's team. When I was little I dribbled the ball and shot at the basket and wore my Clydes and we all wanted to be Knicks, play at The Garden. There was nothing else. No other teams mattered. No other teams really existed. Knicks win or lose...didn't matter. Better if they won, but those were my players, my heroes.

Now because they are going through a real bad spell...I am supposed to forget all those feelings for my team? Am I supposed to now follow the Nets? The Bucks? The Rockets? One day we will do better and actually finish in the eighth spot. But even if we don't I will watch my team and root for them.

Last night's Jazz v Bucks game was on NBA TV so I got a chance to watch. The game was the Bucks feed and at one point the Bucks announcer was talking about how the Jazz are a top team and then he said," They're not talked about very much."

Two questions:

#1. What exactly do you personally feel about, "They're not talked about very much."
#2. Why exactly are the Jazz "not talked about very much"?
The answer is obviously because we don't have Carmelo Anthony on the team

We have one that you could potentially have. He's 6'5 or 6'6. We can take Portis off of you.

Deal?
Mudiay? We had him already. Didn't work out.
We'll take Conley.

By the way, some of our players - the Morris twin, Portis, Randle, Taj Gibson - can play. Thing is they are all mostly one year deals so we will definitely be offering them up come trade deadline time. We will be sellers and sellers of some decent players than can help your (or any) team.
