This is the trade that needs to happen...

https://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=b45watg

Utah receives: Jose Calderon, Chandler Parsons, Cole Aldrich

Houston receives: Paul Millsap, Landry Fields, GSW pick

Toronto receives: Marvin Williams, Carlos Delfino, Terrence Jones, Donatas Motiejunas, Utah pick
,
We add a very solid young wing in Parsons to replace Marvin and half a season of Calderon, who I think would be a great fit. If we don't like him we let him walk after this season. Aldrich could be our fourth big for 10 min per game. Houston gets the best player in this trade in Millsap and fills their need for a solid PF. Due to the risk of him signing somewhere else after this season we also give them the GSW pick. Toronto gets 2 young players to help their rebuild and our pick this year to add another young player. Not sure if they would be willing to take Marvin or Delfino though.

Jose Calderon, Free Agent
Alec Burks, Gordon Hayward
Chandler Parsons, Gordon Hayward
Derrick Favors, Free Agent
Enes Kanter, Cole Aldrich

We let Al go and sign a backup PG and PF this offseason and should have plenty of money to resign the young 4. Another option is to somehow get Phoenix involved and try to get Kendal Marshall. Thoughts?

First off, I don't hate it. Considering how many awful trade ideas come up, that's a good thing. I think it's something the Rockets would seriously consider. I think they'd have a good chance of re-signing Millsap. They'd be fine getting rid of Aldrich but I'm not so sure they'd be willing to part with so much. Toronto might do it if they could turn around and send some of the new acquisitions to Memphis in a deal for Rudy Gay. I think it would be a solid move for the Jazz even if it doesn't create a long-term PG solution.

EDIT: I want to add that this doesn't feel like it came from fantasy-land either, so that's also a plus. I hate seeing completely unrealistic trades that one of the teams would just laugh at.

We give up both our 1st rounders plus paul and marvin? Basically for Chandler Parsons? No thanks. Cole is garbage and Jose would be great but not at that price.

This large of a trade never happens. The Jazz just need to become the 3rd team involved in the Toronto/Grizzlies Gay trade.

Think of it like this: Parsons is probably better than any one player the Jazz would get with their picks. Obviously there's no guarantee there. One great thing about that though is that the next two years are team options on Parsons' contract. He'll make slightly less than $1 million per season. That's incredible value. The other thing to consider is that if the Jazz wanted to re-sign Jose Calderon they probably wouldn't have to pay him the $10.5 million per year he's making now.

i actually like this trade. it helps everyone achieve what thay want. sadly since okc dosent want people to know about his trades he does he wont ever do this one casue it is known now.

I really think Millsap would strongly consider signing with Houston, will they have the cap space to sign him outright this summer? If they do then I doubt they do this trade. If Toronto actually values Marvin or thinks they can turn around and trade the young pieces they get here for Gay, maybe our pick could go to Houston so they would get Millsap and two first round picks for Parsons.

You don't like Parsons? He is the main reason I want to do this trade. Very good young player who would fit in perfectly with our young 4.

In all honesty I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion. Don't know how he played the other night since I wasn't home to watch the massacre.
