Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Only one I cannot really make sense of is DFS. I dont know why we made that call. Has had me confused.. maybe DA thinks the Collins deal is close and DFS talk was another way to put pressure on them or smth.

McDaniels and Collins id be happy to land.

I’m thinking DFS would be a part of a Conley deal if Dallas wanted him.

Wonder if teams are even answering or calling Ainge at this point . He did so well with the 2 big trades teams may be afraid to even make a deal because if they lose the trade they think they will be shitcanned for it, Jazz may need a different strategy
And then there was the detroit trade. GMs should be lining up after that one.

I have some interest in Collins and mcdaniels but not DFS. None of those guys really get me excited though of course. I hope if we trade for any of them DA manages to fleece them.

I'd be interested in McDaniels but I'm pretty meh on the other two. I'm just not sure how great of a fit Collins would be next to Lauri and Kessler, if we can get a first in the deal then I'd be fine with it.

PG with Luka? Nope, still doesnt make sense. Its a weird call. Something fishy going on.

Unless its a 3 way and DFS goes elsewhere. But then again.. we made the call. So no.. still no sense.

While we’re on the topic I just want to remind people how well Sexton played as starting PG when Conley was hurt. A total of 10 games:

17/5/2 on 55/39/87 shooting splits. He had a 6-game stretch where his assists totals were 12/7/5/6/6/5.

He had a positive +/- in 7/10 games. A total of +25 overall combined.

Assist to turnover ratio was 2.2/1.

I don’t know about you guys but those are some pretty impressive stats.

With the way trade rumors tend to happen… I bet Dallas called us and offered DFS plus a bunch of garbage for Lauri, and DFS was the only part of the garbage package we were “interested” in
This makes more sense than anything. Sounds like a Mark Cuban move.

Marc Stein:
"The first two league executives I spoke to last week ... basically had the same reaction. They said that, in their respective organizations, there’s a half-joking (but also half-serious) policy when it comes to Jazz CEO Danny Ainge that goes something like this: If Ainge is calling about a trade ... let it go to voicemail.”

When conley is out hardy has 3 guys to turn to take that spot. Because its the deepest. I agree that they are combo guards though. Combo meaning combination. Point guard being part of that combination. They aren’t necessarily ideal if you are wanting a pure pass first point guard but the good news is that in todays nba pass first points arent really necessary and dont exist much so they are fine to play point guard. I mean what team do we play next?
Raptors. Who is their pass first pure point guard?
Looking at their roster i see fred van fleet and gary trent jr are the players for them listed as point guards.
I think sexton, naw and tht can play the point just as much as they can. Just as much as most teams point guards tbh. Conley (a tiny pass first point guard) is kind of a dying breed.

Sorry fish, PG is not our deepest position at all. On the contrary, you remove Conley and there is no one decent to make advanced reads and run the team properly. There is not much PG in that "combo" definition. Hardy is forced to play different ball handlers just because there is no else who could run an offense properly. The offense and overall IQ of the team drops to basic leves when Conley is off the floor. Hopefully we get someone competent via draft or trades.

Hmm, in my experience diarrhea sticks to literally everything in every way imaginable. Maybe it is throwing constipated ****-bricks against the wall which would just bounce off, the way they plug the toilet up EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Bruh... only one way to test this... Cy gets raging diarrhea on your hands and you throw it against the wall... then we get a brick of **** and throw it against the wall and measure what is left.

I used to throw apples at a brick wall in my youth... there will be some remnants... way more than trying to throw diarrhea... it prolly doesn't even make it to the wall.

Cy says we have one pg and a bunch of combo guard’s, but he wants to trade Vando for yet another combo guard in Bones Hyland. Naturally.

at the very least, this has been an entertaining discussion to catch up on over the last 8 pages or so.

as far as bones hyland, he destroyed the jazz in a late october game this season (at least in the first half, iirc) and i've ignored what he's done since, so i think he's amazing.

didn't the jazz have a gm back in the day (KOC) who would trade for dudes who had one good game against the jazz (Amaechi comes to mind) - as if he never did any other homework?

but instead of vando (i like vando), let's dump beasley for him.
