Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

at the very least, this has been an entertaining discussion to catch up on over the last 8 pages or so.

as far as bones hyland, he destroyed the jazz in a late october game this season (at least in the first half, iirc) and i've ignored what he's done since, so i think he's amazing.

didn't the jazz have a gm back in the day (KOC) who would trade for dudes who had one good game against the jazz (Amaechi comes to mind) - as if he never did any other homework?

but instead of vando (i like vando), let's dump beasley for him.
The issue is that Beasley makes too much money to be traded to Denver. They have no bad contracts.

While we’re on the topic I just want to remind people how well Sexton played as starting PG when Conley was hurt. A total of 10 games:

17/5/2 on 55/39/87 shooting splits. He had a 6-game stretch where his assists totals were 12/7/5/6/6/5.

He had a positive +/- in 7/10 games. A total of +25 overall combined.

Assist to turnover ratio was 2.2/1.

I don’t know about you guys but those are some pretty impressive stats.
Those are ok stats, wouldn't call them impressive. Remember Sexton is a scorer who averaged 25ppg at some point. So his scoring and shooting ability is not into question. As of today, Conley is our only good PG but he is old. Sexton can be ok at the position and improve his passing, but i don't think he is the solution long-term. THT and naw have played there out of necessity, not because they are really good at running an offense. I think we need to improve at PG during the off-season.

With the way trade rumors tend to happen… I bet Dallas called us and offered DFS plus a bunch of garbage for Lauri, and DFS was the only part of the garbage package we were “interested” in
I find it hard to believe Dallas called the jazz and offered DFS for Markkanen with a straight face.

I think we are deep at PG. Conley/Sexton/NAW can all play PG at a pretty high level. Sexton’s stats as starting PG were amazing and he is in all of our best lineups. NAW is great as a third string PG. He showed flashes of being even better than that as well.
You forgot to mention THT who has also been playing at a pretty high level. Let’s see, we’ve got 22 mil going to Conley, 16 to Sexton, 10 to THT and 3 to NAW and they’re all bigger stronger and better than Hyland. I mean at 6’3”, 175, the guy is called Bones for a reason!

What’s on Danny’s mind? All I hear is Collins and the McDaniels brothers. I think Danny’s a pretty good judge of what we need right now and unless we move some bodies and contracts it ain’t some dude called Bones.

Sorry fish, PG is not our deepest position at all. On the contrary, you remove Conley and there is no one decent to make advanced reads and run the team properly. There is not much PG in that "combo" definition. Hardy is forced to play different ball handlers just because there is no else who could run an offense properly. The offense and overall IQ of the team drops to basic leves when Conley is off the floor. Hopefully we get someone competent via draft or trades.

A. Conley is part of the jazz and is part of that depth.
B. NAW and sexton have both looked great playing point guard for us. The team as well. THT, the 4th stringer has had some good moments as well.

I appreciate your level headed post with no insults though. We will just agree to disagree.

I would say sg is by far our deepest position with pg second.

There's KCP, but I guess they value him way more than a salary matching throw-in. Bones and KCP for Beasley works, as an example.
They wouldnt do that. They want to add defense to their team without subtracting from their current core.

You guys are ****ing wild. Those are ok stats but then you say Conley is our only good PG?

Conley is averaging 10/8/2 on 39/37/80 splits. How is 17/5/2 on 55/39/87 splits not impressive if you think Conley’s stats are good?

I didn’t even realize until now Conley is shooting 39% from the field. That is ****ing atrocious.

PG with Luka? Nope, still doesnt make sense. Its a weird call. Something fishy going on.

Unless its a 3 way and DFS goes elsewhere. But then again.. we made the call. So no.. still no sense.

I mean they are missing Brunson pretty bad and he’s a PG. It is proven that it works with Luka.
