If you drive a fully electric vehicle then you have to pay an extra $250 each year.

I guess it's because drivers of those vehicles use less gas and therefore pay less taxes on the gas that they aren't buying and the taxes paid on gas goes towards fixing roads and stuff and hybrid drivers and electric vehicle drivers also use the roads so they should contribute as much towards roadwork.

And that actually makes sense but it still sucks. Also, why not make people pay a fee who simply drive less often and shorter distances?
If you walk (or ride a bike) to work or the store then you should be subjected to this extra fee. If you are retired and don't work and rarely drive then you should have to pay this fee. Use public transportation? Pay the fee. Carpool? Pay the fee. Live really close to work? Pay the fee.
You might say, well those people aren't using the roads as much so they shouldn't have to pay as much but I might own a hybrid or EV and also walk (or bike) to the store and to work and live close to work and be retired etc.

It feels like a fee that exists to incentivize people to buy gas only cars and punish those who don't buy gas only cars.

250 dollars is a half a tank of brain dead Biden gas once he’s sold all the US reserves, blows up the nord stream pipeline, and lets Russia invade Ukraine.
Plus, I guarantee fish is not college educated.

It’s important to remember that Trump voters can’t admit that they were ever wrong. They’ll replace his nonsensical ramblings with whatever inner speech they can invent so their worldview isn’t burst and ego dismantled. The truth is, they’re living in an alternative reality while the rest of the world sees America as weaker and more corrupt. They know Trump is incompetent. Even Trump’s allies in the GOP merely use him as a useful idiot to accomplish their own selfish agendas (be it project 2025, beating up immigrants, or cashing in with tax cuts).

And even if it did, it would portray it as team sports, “we’re winning and it’s irritating the other side!” If this were part of my tribe, I would find a different tribe. And if the president I voted for pardoned a degenerate like this, I’d definitely stop supporting him.

And another pardon, thanks to mom’s attendance at the million dollar dinner. We’ve had corrupt administrations, but never like this: being a Strongman, and being corrupt go hand in hand.


Then, Ms. Fago was invited to a $1-million-per-person fund-raising dinner last month that promised face-to-face access to Mr. Trump at his private Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla.

Less than three weeks after she attended the dinner, Mr. Trump signed a full and unconditional pardon.

It came just in the nick of time for Mr. Walczak, sparing him from having to pay nearly $4.4 million in restitution and from reporting to prison for an 18-month sentence that had been handed down just 12 days earlier. A judge had justified the incarceration by declaring that there “is not a get-out-of-jail-free card” for the rich.

The pardon, however, indicated otherwise. The case of Ms. Fago and Mr. Walczak is the latest example of the president’s willingness to use his clemency powers to reward allies who advance his political causes, and to punish his enemies.

Exactly. They've been persecuted, those poor Nazis. however at the same time that we support those poor Nazi's we also have to support Israel's genocide in Gaza
