We Got Swindled by Sexton (And Eddie Zero Sucks)

Maybe. But we're not a great half court team (as far as running a methodical, deliberate offense is concerned), and half court is super important in the playoffs. It's tough to create the type of chaotic environment that's an advantage to you when the other team has scouted you to within an inch of your life and 1-on-1 matchups start to matter more.

The fact that this team consists entirely of "role player" types (well, with the exception of Sexton, I guess...) has been surprisingly difficult to spot. But you can see it in the way dudes start lobbing those hand grenades to one another when the shot clock is running down. We constantly have that problem when the game slows down and we get stuck overpassing the ball in half court.

Oh well, it's a long season and guys are learning new roles. But I'm not talking about playoffs just yet.
Neither Marky nor Sexton are traditional role players at all they are both starter level offensive players or high level 6th man types at the very least. Unless your bar for role player is compared to Luka they are not role players at all imo. THT, Malik and Kessler are role players

LOL .. Cy got swindled by ... (wait for it) ... himself!!!

Sexton with 22pts, 3reb, 2assists and some clutch plays down the stretch.

Highlights incoming...

I think with Sexton you have to either trade him (not this moment, but at the deadline) when his value is high, or try and give him the starting PG reigns. The vibes are good now and he understands the situation, but you can definitely tell he is an ambitious player who isnt going to want to spend his career as a 6th man.

One thing I've changed my mind on w/ Sexton is that I think he can part of an overall good defense. There will still be switching concerns because of his size, but he does battle hard and I think his defensive IQ is good enough to be a net neutral type defender.

The biggest question mark remains if he can actually be a PG.

One thing Sexton has that Mitchell doesn’t is that absolute dog. When Mitchell drives he’s smooth and tries to shoot around the defender, Sexton just explodes and tryes to either jump past you or through you. Which makes it easier to finish or get to the line, also helps that he jumps off one foot. That always bothered me about Mitchell.

Yeah, Mitchell has always been a lackluster foul drawer. I think it's less about "dog" and more about being a two vs one foot jumper like you said.

Wait, what? Mitchell can't jump off one foot?

Wow this is blowing my mind right now.. lol ..
