We went to see "Save Me" this weekend. Decent semi-horror-kinda-thriller-partial-survival flick. The acting was a bit ham-fisted, but passable. The on-location scenes were great, with good CGI at the right times to keep the milieu consistent. Pretty good twist at the end. Probably no need to go to the theater to see this one though, just wait for streaming. It also suffered a bit from the current trend of SPELLING...OUT...EVERY...SINGLE...THING...IN...THE...PLOT because movies can no longer keep the attention of dopamine zombies glued to their phones. For fun I got up in the middle to refill my drink, but really to look around, and maybe a full third of the people in a mostly full theater, that I could see anyway, were on their phones in the middle of the movie. Tragic. We used to be told that too much tv would rot our minds, but now we see that these tiny screens are actually doing exactly that.
Anyway, as far as the movie goes, it was a decent night out. If I gave it stars it would get 3.5 out of 6, but closer to a 6 out of 10 really, so I guess 3 stars. Final answer.
Now where the **** is my phone? It hasn't been in my hands for a full 3 minutes and I am getting the shakes.
