At this point Jazz are desperate and I would give this offer a try
Spurs said they would make moves to contend right away
I mean they just traded for a PG who needs the ball in his hands to be at his best. I kind of don't think Harper is a the greatest of fits for them... although, at the same time, I've always maintained that you can never have enough on-ball talent... so who knows? At least you have to try IMO.

Fox wont be hard to trade away.

They got him for basically nothing.

2 and Barnes/Johnson for 5 and Markkanen?
If we give up Maarkanen, we shouldn't give up the 5th too. For me it would be Maarkanen (an all star) for thr 2nd pick and filler salary. If you have to give up another first it would be the 21st but I think there is almost more value in this draft at 21 than at 5 depending on who is there.

I think if Ace falls to 5th its a no-brainer, but I doubt he does.

I'm not a huge Ace fan, but putting myself in to the shoes of a GM and it would be extremely hard for me to pass up on him at 3 or 4. If I'm a GM I would be watching his film and thinking that I could turn him in to a star with coaching, natural maturity, and devleopment.

VJ is more likely to fall to 5, in my opinion, but I think his measurements helped him a lot as he can pass for wing size, making his limited ball handling ability more palatable.

I think we should look at next years draft to determine the best #2/3 role option on the team moving forward and hope luck is better next season. A high scoring 6’6” SG doesn’t seem like a bad option. I’m just not so sure ace Bailey isn’t going to slide and tre not vj is there at 5

I voted for Kon. Although it doesn't seem he is the best upside swing... I think his floor is very high. I am going to add the link to his Tankathon page. His win share number is very high- and his ORTG versus DRTG it has the biggest positive difference in this draft- not counting Flagg. All his offensive numbers are crazy good and his DRTG is below 100. Maybe that is a function of playing alongside elite defenders- but I am also curious to see if he has another level of offensive upside with more usage and having deferred to 2 other high lottery pick teammates at Duke....

and ace is going to kill in workouts. all you see in those setting are all his strengths. the weaknesses - the ball handling, passing, finishing at the rim, getting to the rim, etc - aren't on display. but they are going to salivate over an 18 yo, 6'9 SG with a beautiful stroke knocking down every shot he takes.

One thing that wasn't mentioned nearly enough is that sixers taking VJ at #3 makes zero sense.

Doesn't matter what direction they are taking, they will have Maxey running the point. So there's no room for VJ whatsoever. When you draft VJ, you don't draft him to take the ball out of his hands. So I think they either take Ace/Tre or will look to trade down.

Either Hornets takes VJ with Melo(which doesn't make much sense either but they are the Hornets), or there's a real possibility for VJ to fall all the way to #5 on draft night.

As the guy who drafted VJ for the 76ers in the mock draft, their situation is really messy with Embiid uncertain and the decline of PG. I believe VJ doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective. He can be a defensive disruptor with his 10/10 athleticism and provide some of the more ancillary things the team needs. They already have on ball juice with Maxey and McCain. VJ gives them a 3rd guard that provides a different but unique skillset. Plus I think he is just a better overall player than Ace.

Tre, and if not him or the other supposed Top 4 guys that drop, Kasper.

Can't say I'm all that enthused, but hey, maybe Tre will really become a star. Hope he does, or whoever the Jazz draft does.
