What's new

Williams get new agent, has made no firm promises about staying in New Jersey

u have to believe Jazz is going to strong push for DW in 2012 free agency market with substantial cap space, Memo's contract wil be off the book.

Yeah but if I was DWill I'd push for Dwight Howard to join him in Brooklyn. I think the Utah Jazz is a finished Chapter in his life.

Nets would have PG and C locked down. You wouldn't need a traditional PF in the middle. Then trade Brook Lopez for at least a veteran + a couple of prospects or draft picks. Sign a proven wing like Green, Chandler or Afflalo. Heck, Beasely would be a good fit with Howard and DWill running the show.

That team could compete straight away, IMO.

I really think Utah makes a strong push for Aaron Brooks and let Hayward Burks control the ball a little more. Brooks brings the 3 pt shooting and ability to create

The only thing that would concern me would be his ability to set screens..

I think Goran Dragic would not be a bad option - he can also hit the 3pt.

How well did Brooks shoot the 3ball last season...?? How about we wait a full season and then form our opinion on Harris before we compare him to other PGs that we should go after.

I agree. Why have so many written off Harris so soon? It's ridiculous, give the guy a chance.

Deron is not coming back to Utah. That door has slammed shut and been welded in the frame.

Harris is ok as a PG. I see no need to freak out trying to get one to replace him. Really he is in the top of the second tier PG's, so unless a Westbrook or Williams or Parker or whatever come available, Harris is really as good as any other. I think a bigger need is moving CJ, Sap, Fess, AK sign and trade, whatever, to get a solid wing that can score and defend to help bring Hayward and Burks along.

Why would the Jazz want to deal with Duron again?

I thought the whole point of trading him was to get rid of him and his cancerous attitude.

Why would we bring him back, give him max money (again), only to be held hostage (again), and hope that someone makes a trade so that we aren't screwed with him leaving (again)?

Lets move on folks.

And, by the way, Harris doesn't suck either.

It's ridiculous that so many have written him off so quickly.

Harris doesnt suck, but with him as the PG the Jazz wouldnt or shouldnt be running their same old plays with the 1 and the 4. They will have to change it up somewhat, have plays that involve the wings more. He isnt quite the P&R guy that Deron or Stockton was, his strengths are a little different. The Jazz cant look at him to be the initiator of offense everytime down the court.
They better have some good ballhandling wings, thats the way the league is moving anyways.

I'll say it again: Even if Deron was willing to listen to an off from Utah, I'm pretty sure Jazz Brass want nothing to do with him.

Not only that, if the Favors/Kanter duo ends up being what we hope it will be, Utah's going to have to be prepared to commit some serious future salary to the front court. Forget maxing out a PG.

If we could somehow land Dwight Howard in exchange for Jefferson, Bell, & Memo. Then Dwill would take a serious look at coming back to the Jazz.
So in other words, NO CHANCE.

We have a young core that is going to be demanding a lot of money.

We already know what paying a PG the max would get us. And it's not what we want.

No chance it happens. But I would have him back in a heart beat. The money doesn't need to be there for several years for Favors/Hayward/Kanter(no guarantee and of them will demand huge money) and besides by then Jefferson/Okur/Harris contracts would all be up. Players like D-Will are rare, and if he somehow wanted to come back, you'd be crazy not to make it happen.

I'd take Dwill back.

So he can scream at Hayward?

So he can fire Ty Corbin?

So he can complain about not watching film or having practice done to his liking?

So he can threaten to leave after we make trades he doesn't like?

So he can pout on the court for not getting a call while his man goes coast to coast for a layup?

No thanks
