WTF Rudy?

And who knows, perhaps Rudy is tanking right now so Donovan will step up and take the leadership role. Maybe Rudy thinks that that is what is best for the team long-term.

It's not even about holding Rudy accountable as it is much as holding everyone else accountable. No one is doing that. I think the team would have Donovan's back if he took over in that role right now. Joe Ingles would have his back and he himself needs to be held accountable. We're just a lame duck team without that floor leader and Rudy without offensive skills can't really take on that roll.

and besides if Donovan is old enough for his own line of underwear, he's old enough to take on the leadership role of this rudderless team.

This team is Donovan's team for the taking. They will be in limbo until he decides to do so in my opinion.

I mean, I don’t disagree I want to see Donovan’s leadership be more asserting. Rudy acting the way he’s acting as the teams most tenured and impactful player doesn’t cut it and ruins the entire teams morale. It starts with Rudy being Rudy again. Donovan will continue to grow.

Rudy has had his shot at the leadership role and it didn't have legs. Someone needs to do it because these guys need to be held accountable. That's obvious, right?

But Rudy is the most important part of this right now and he’s acting like a petty child lol. Donovan can assert leadership, it’s going to take Rudy getting back to being defensively dominant for the team to be good again. And with the way he’s acting I’m not sure he’s all that receptive to it right now. If Rudy doesn’t just grow up, it’s not gonna matter.

Both factors are important to the success of this team but I don't think Rudy grows up until there's a true leader on this team.
 
maybe it's time to destroy Dead Leader Lindsay's mold , have Gobert walk and build around Mitchell. Have a run and gun offense, F defense. but keep toughness and finesse.
 
His effort hasn’t been great. Hopefully it improves. We owe him more than 5 games I guess. But the Jazz need to win....a lot from here on out and that’s going to take an engaged Rudy.
 
The expectation after the Jazz traded for Mike Conley and signed Bogdanovic was that we would be a top 2 team in the West. Then that whole LA Clippers thing happened, Denver has played well, Mike Conley has underwhelmed, and the Jazz are right back where they were in the 4/5 seed with the Rockets. It's frustrating.
