What's new

What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Nope... but aren't you a bit old for that now? LOL ...

I think it gets better over time. The age of the internet has really opened my eyes up to some crazy sexual fantasies. They become more bizarre by the day. I can't even begin to imagine what I'll be into when I'm qsh's age. Perhaps I'll be gay by then having exhausted every possible vehicle for heterosexual pleasure.

LOL .. are you going through a weird 'phase' right now bro?

Your sig. saying "you are now closer to death than you were before you began reading this" is a little concerning.

Yes, it's a phase called 'life'

Your sig. saying "you are now closer to death than you were before you began reading this" is a little concerning.

While I can't speak much on the concern surrounding such a sig (as the level of concern would vary from person to person - and would be virtually nonexistent within me), I can, however, say with certainty that the statement is true for anyone who reads it - no matter where, when, why, or how it is read.

Funny you mentioned 'life' because your sig. seems to emphasise 'death'????

Maybe you'll like kids by then too.

Liked it a lot. Obviously you have to be ok with watching subtitles and films with Almodovar-esque themes (i.e. lots of homosexual stuff and lots of sex generally). That said, it's excellently done.

A single man

Directed by Tom Ford (yep, the fashion designer). However he apparently invested his own money in this and did a GREAT job. It's based on a short story. I really enjoyed it. It has a great style, great music, but the story itself was very engaging as well and the performance by Colin Firth is top notch. One of his best, earning him an Oscars nomination and a Bafta win. It's not a new film, but it is worth catching if you've got a chance.

My wife loves Colin Firth so I'll have to watch this one with her as I don't think she's seen it and I opted out of the Kingsmen.

Well like I said it's not a new film so you'll have to get a DVD or something... but I think it would be worth it, very classy, really good.

Sound City. Dave Grohl directed it. Its basically about a handmade analog soundboard that some of the greatest albums ever were recorded on. If you are a fan of music check it out. Its got a ton of HUGE names in it and seeing Dave Grohl play the Smells Like Teen Spirit on drums without guitar or bass is worth the 2 hours of your life you'll use watching it.

some films I have seen lately:

Super 8 - get original. 7/10

I, Origins - promising ideas, executed very poorly. First half and second half are completely different. Story doesn't build up. 7.3/10

Safety Not Guaranteed - Good acting. Nothing much else. 7.3/10

The Imitaton Game - Very good acting by Benedict Cumberbatch. Seems like they had too much material on their hands and they couldn't choose one to focus on one. Doesn't really focus on Turing's personal life or Turing Machine. Too many jumps. Forced dialogues. 7.4/10

Miele - I loved this one most out of the list. Thought-provoking, simple film about euthnasia. Very well written lead character. 8/10.

Theory of Everything - Brilliant acting by Redmayne. Nice balance between personal and professinal life. It just doesn't do much with what it has.7.7/10

What a great thread! Lots of new movie ideas to watch!

I just watched Big Fish. My favorite Tim Burton movie. I usually don't like Tim Burton at all actually. I recommend it to anybody.
