What's new

Trey Lyles being held out of practice/Summer League for now

Hayward would be the sg and George the sf.
I think pg is like 6 10 and has played a decent amount of power forward.
But ya, that lineup would be awesome

It'd be even crazier w/ Neto, Alec, Hood, and Pleiss coming off the bench. Rodney abd Alec would be terrors off the bench w/ Neto's creativity in the mix. Three really good ball-handling playmakers. Yikes! Alec and Rodney would be duking it out for 6th man awards.

Given how high the Jazz FO appears to be on Lyles, I would be pretty shocked to see him dealt away. Shocked, I say. I'm guessing that if anything is going to happen, it'll involve Booker, at a minimum. I'd be sorry to see him go, but if it improves the team, then I'm all for that.

Every time I come back here hoping maybe something it just stupider and stupider. Close this there and make a la la land ones that allows fns who think we can get PG for nothing.

^good point

I was expecting DL to say "yeah man, he's pretty all right". Pretty surprised he said such really nice things about him after we drafted him in the NBA draft of this year.

Its already 29 page??? And...about....nothing but silly thoughts that would make other teams laugh so hard.

Well yeah, if you put him on the Warriors. That team isn't built to play with Melo. You have to build a team around him.

The dude dropped 46 points on us and nearly beat us single handily if it wasn't for an amazing shot by Burke.

The "Player X hasnt won a Chip yet so he will never win one because he is a loser" thing is such a bad argument. It's pretty much what everyone said about Dirk until Dirk finally won one.

Melo has had playoff success. He can't do anything in NYC because he has been on awful teams, it's not really his fault.

I'm not saying he hasn't won one so he never will at all.

I'm saying he has to be the no.1 guy on the team and he's going to hurt the game of any decent no.2 enough that his team will never be championship caliber. You can cheerlead for him all you want. I think his mentality and his game...

...can make a bad team good and a great team good.

That's who I think he is, and he's quickly running out of time to prove me wrong.

Pretty sure Chauncey Billups had his best year of his career when he was the No.2 on the team Melo took to the conference finals.

Wow, I'm feeling the burn pretty bad right now.

This is strange and does perhaps indicate that something more is afoot. What it really comes down to is this kid needs these Summer League minutes and they need to figure out how to get him on the court for Monday night versus the Cs. Plus, I just want to see him play.

They are also going to play in Vegas as well.

It's also not out of the question that the Jazz were having legit tie-ups with Lyles agent over the small details of the contract and DL just took the bullet to protect Lyles from any fan backlash.

Lopez was reported going to the Knicks somewhere around mid-day yesterday. That would have pretty much blown up the rumored deal PKM passed along. Yet Lyles sat out again today.

It's a possibility that there are some legit contract snags for Lyles, but I think those are small possibilities. They should be able to be ironed out quickly. If he sits out again tomorrow, I think the odds are good something else is going on.

That would have been one sweet deal for the Jazz and would have made us instant contenders.

It's a good thing that PKM didn't share it openly on JFC, otherwise it definitely would have fallen through like a day or two earlier.

BTW, I think there is very little reliability to that trader rumor. Indy gets fleeced.
