Following 2016 potential draftees

This mock is surely better than the list of probable lottery picks Jeff Goodman wrote the other day. Which included Stephen Zimmerman(UNLV) 4th overall and Daniel Hamilton(UConn) 13th, a severe reach based on Hamiltons streaky play last season. Goodman did have Rabb 10th, which is much more sensible.

Interesting that Ford has Melo Trimble outside of the top-30 and Tyler Dorsey 30th and as a PG, with a blurb about his play for Team Greece.

Ford and Goodman both have Dragan Bender listed at SF, which i think is just insane, he's 6'11½ or 7' even and clearly looks like a PF IMO.

I take issue with placing Ivan Rabb 25th, thats the lowest I've seen him mocked by a good margin. I also think any mock with Egemen Guven in the first round is probably trying to save face on that particular subject, Guven was extremely underwhelming the few games I saw of him this summer. Also Guven is certainly taller than that listed 6'9" height.

Rabb also has reportedly added 12lbs of muscle at Cal already there's a pretty convincing before and after picture making the rounds.

Also Damien Jones, Sophomore Center from Vanderbilt, 15th in the mock, is listed at 6'10" when he measured 7' in shoes this summer. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk is closer to 6'8" than 6'6". And I'm pretty sure Grayson Allen (Duke) is 6'4" not 6'6".

I think Sabonis is really going to rise. Genes are to good not too. He was around 24th last year on the big board. But I guess he will be a sophomore and on the old side. Yeah, Allen i think is about 6'3 6'4. Would be real good for him if he could run the point. I like Korkmaz if nothing more than his great name. He did have a great summer, either though his FG% was not to great.

Sabonis is actually fairly young for a sophomore, he's supposed to have put on 15lbs too. Can't say I'm a big fan though, I'd be surprised if he turns out to be anything more than a bench player, and I'd compare him to Tyler Hansborough minus the FT shooting. Honestly have no clue what NBAdraft.net is thinking putting him 11th in their mock.

Korkmaz seems like a lock for the top-20 especially if he's a legit 6'7". Allen's more of a toss up, he will surely need more seasoning if he's to transition to point, whether that takes place on the bench in the NBA or at Duke in the starting lineup remains to be seen.

As you say Sabonis is still young for a sophomore and his game still has plenty of time to develop. His dad was one of the most skilled basketball players out there until he tore his achilles. Interesting to see if Few plays Whitjier at the 3 so Sabonis can play more.

Keep an eye out for Isaiah Briscoe. He could be a PG who's within our range especially if UK doesn't play him a lot.

I'm pretty sure Jakob Poeltl whooped Sabonis and outplayed Jonas Valanciunas(14/10) 2 days ago in a friendly match vs Lithuania, haven't watched the full game(here it is though), Jakob starts off hot and doesn't cool off.

Poeltl had 27 points in 28 minutes on 11-15 shooting, Including a pretty impressive alley-oop finish(28:12 in the below vid), and a 3point make(22:22, [the previous possession Sabonis makes a 3])Jakob also had few blocks and steals..

I like Korkmaz for the Jazz because I think we need a lights out shooter and he is the best this year. I am also a fan of stanslav from KU, They say he might be able to play some point.

I'm pretty high on Poeltl, he was pretty high on my board this year(about 10-11) and I wanted us to draft him until he pulled out of the draft... If for some reason the FO is not interested in a PG and Pleiss is a total waste, I wouldn't mind us picking him next year either, although ... I doubt he'd fall to us.

Here's a podcast by Nate Duncan with guest Mike Scmitz from DX, talking about 2016 draft and 2017 prospects:

Interesting - they see Simmons not as a SF or PF! They see him as a PG!!! 6'10'' PG! Damn! If he can really play PG that would be a really interesting experiment...

Just clickbait statements to link it with some hashtags and get more viewers like you ;)

If he was fast enough to navigate screens against lightning quick guards, I'd agree. He isn't from what I've seen.

Yah, I'm very skeptical about that as well, Duncan said he's watched him matched up against PGs defensively and he's done good job guarding them... I honestly haven't really seen him play that role, so I can't comment... I need to see it to believe it. They think his jump shot is completely broken so he'd have trouble playing on the wing. All I've seen from him is playing playmaking forward(both from the wing and on the block) and matched up against front court players on D. He super interesting prospect with very unique skill-set for his size. I think if he had any semblance of a jumpshot he'd be clearcut no. 1 prospect in this draft, but his struggles there make the race more interesting...

My opinion is Skal will separate himself as much as AD did.

2 games into Marquette's tour in Italy this his how Ellenson looks. By far the best shape I've seen him in.

8.12.15 - MU vs Haukar - 24 points, 10 rebounds
8.15.15 - MU vs LSU-Athletas - 29 points, 7 rebounds

Yes. Full offensive arsenal.

I'm guessing you'd trade Favors and the pick for him?

Do you have a player comparison?

Hows LaMarcus Aldrige with slightly more agility/explosion? I think you'd have to say Skal has more polished/proven moves going into college too.

Think they plan on giving him the ball 18ft from the basket for jab-steps and drives? Or will he get the Towns, stuck down low treatment?

Has no one started a 2018 draft thread? If not watch out for this guy. From Sportando.com

History was made in Kaunas, Lithuania on Sunday as tournament MVP Dzanan Musa lifted Bosnia and Herzegovina to their first-ever FIBA title at the U16 European Championship.

The talismanic shooting guard had 33 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two blocks, including several key scores in the big moments, to help the Bosnians rise above hosts Lithuania 85-83 in the Final at a sold-out Kaunas Sports Hall.

There was further cause for Musa to celebrate as he was later named the tournament's outstanding player and headlined the All-Star Five.

It capped an incredible campaign for the 16-year-old, who averaged 23.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists as the Bosnians won seven of their nine games.

Fran Fraschilla tweeted out after the Eurocamp that he thought it was filled with 2nd round prospects. I thought that was a ****ty opinion at the time, mainly because of Musa.
