Following 2016 potential draftees

Simmons is 81% on FT's so far, I dont think its unreasonable to think that his shooting will eventually come.

You think if the 76ers get the #1 pick they should take him, ignore their depth at guard and play Simmons next to Saric??

You think if the Lakers get the #1 pick they should take Simmons to play next to Randle?

I could see the Celtics taking him #1 if the Nets pick hits pay dirt.

Simmons is much bigger/stronger, more athletic vs college opponents, he should dominate. It doesn't mean he's better than the top 7-footers in the draft, I really don't think he's that much better than Bender or even Zhou Qi.

The Sixers depth at guard? Noel, Okafur and if he comes over, Saric, are their best three players. Yes, better than Covington, Stauskas or the kid from 'Zona. You're a straight clown, bro.

If that's who they view as BPA, then yes. Philly has obviously been implementing that draft strategy and I don't see why they would stop now. In the case of the Lakers, I wouldn't let someone like Julius ****ing Randle stop me from taking a far superior prospect.

Draft BPA, then figure the rest out.

I agree. His shot isn't broken by any means. Idk if he'll maintain 80% from the FT line all season (that's much better than what he shot in HS), but I expect steady improvement on his shot as his career progresses.

Do you think he's going to be a bettr player than Draymond Green? I'd say no.

I'd be very surprised if he doesn't become better than Dray. I don't think he'll ever be quite as good of a defender (I honestly have no idea how Green is able to do the things he does on the defensive end), but Simmons has a much better knack for scoring the basketball (look at his last shot against Marquette), and he's clearly an even more prolific passer. And I think we can expect a steady rise in Simmons' shooting ability, like we've seen from Green (he was shooting 20% on 3s as a 22 year old rookie).

PGAB, how would you compare Bender to Porz? Do you like him as much as you liked Porz at this stage?

One big difference between the two right now is that Bender is on a Euroleague teams with lots of veterans while Porzingis was on a younger Spanish team getting twice the playing time so it is pretty hard to scout Bender right now. He also skipped summer duties because of a shoe fiasco so personally I would be surprised if Bender turns out as good as Porzingis.

He's about to play vs NC State in 10 minutes.

I don't like him as much as Porzingis, I think Qi is the closest thing to Porz in this draft, potentially. Bender doesn't have that kind of bounce in his step, to make those putbacks that Porz is doing now. Porz is grabbing more boards in the NBA thna he did in the ACB. It's hard to get a read on Bender with his team in turmoil right now, they fired the coach, it's not a good idea to write him off from the #1 pick conversation though IMO.

He's 7'1" and has the lateral quickness to hedge and recover from the NBA 3pt line, in a crouched defensive stance. He's got excellent body control/footwork/balance. He's a better passer than Porz, he throws these outlet passes to start fast breaks that are just awesome.

Porz has some really fancy footwork and plenty of fakes ad abilities to hit step-backs and turnarounds. Bender might infact have even more finesse to his game because he's such a willing passer, Bender is more the type of player you would want in the middle of the floor to break a zone defense, he makes quick reads almost like a guard, while i'd say Porz is more like an oversizd SF..

I hav read there are european scouts who think Benders better

They are definitely basing that mostly on potential right now. However, Bender is playing about the same as Hezonja was last year.

Kansas also takes on UCLA tonight. Of course no Diallo yet. I Am interested in the sweet shooting Ukranian though. More PT for him with the suspension to Greene.

R.I.P. ROBIN WILLIAMS. I shed a single tear whenever I see Prince Ali and think of this song. Prince Ali almost threw down a top-10 dunk last night too.

Svi hit 6 3's last night, I hope Self gets him more than 20 minutes tonight. Devonte Graham and Carlton Bragg are good prospects for Kansas too.

As Bender adds strength, which is sure to come, Has the type of game and savvy to be able to really put that advantage to use. Especially If he can be a big factor on the O-boards like Porzingis, Bender is probably very low risk compared to some of the other top prospects. He hits 3's and has a really nice mid-range game. He's totally a better prospect than Cody Zeller, not a question in my mind. He could fit on most everyteam IMO, Like Porzingis, but thats because there's a dearth of talented 7-footers, especially ones who can play PF.

Anyone who says otherwise is a damn fool. He's top-notch.

But isn't his shooting a worry? It's a shooter's league now in the NBA, and if you can't make outside shots that's a bit no-no in my book... defense can collapse on you, etc, etc,.
