What's new

GT: Jazz @ Super Sonics | 12/13/15 | 5pm MT

It will be difficult for the Jazz to make the playoffs if they don't make a trade to improve this roster. Phoenix, Portland, Denver, Minnesota and Sacramento they will all fight for the 8th seed. There are too many teams that aim at the 7th and 8th seed. Jazz roster is not better than most of these teams.

Our schedule has been one of the toughest in the NBA thus far and after the Spurs game tomorrow will be the easiest in the NBA going forward. Even with all our injuries and having gone through hell scheduling-wise, we are still ahead of all those teams you listed.

We'll be fine.

so we are exactly what we had under Corbs, a treadmill team fighting for 8th seed and got bounced in the first playoff. Why do we want to be in this position? we need a superstar, we can't sign FA I think the logical move is to tank for a franchise-changing draft pick.

I'm still onboard for this season. I'm not giving up. But this should have been a ****ing win.

right, beating a top-shelf western team in their insanely-raucous arena (with strong helpings of homecoming) = a game we 'should have won'.

Be happy with the effort, acknowledge that our team isn't perfect, and be hopeful for improvement. There's good things to take from this game.

How many games will we lose when Rodney, Gordon, and Alec all drop more than 20 points?

Tell your mom her ***** stinks.

TIA

DL pull the trigger. Again, we need a blockbuster trade that doesn't involve Favors or Gobert. He has the pieces to come up with something sweet :)

19 is just a random number, but my point is that tons of other variables contribute to that number besides what Millsap did.

Let's say Hayward, Hood, and Burks miss a bunch of shots while Millsap is on the court and other OKC players that Millsap isn't guarding happen to make more of their shots.

Bam, Millsap's +/- is instantly worse and it has nothing to do with him.

That is why it is a retarded stat to draw any meaningful conclusions from, especially from a single game. The vast majority of the variables that contributed to that +15 number had nothing whatsoever to do with anything Millsap did.

just like you randomly pulled 19 out of your butt, you're randomly asserting that Milsap did nothing on the court. his defense is a major, if not main, reason why that number is high. you look at the game from a one-sided perspective (offense only). I'm not arguing for Milsap to get more playing time, but it is very clear that he is not the reason why we lost.

Are you delusional? The Jazz were up 16. They were in control the last minute of the game. They didn't need to let this go to OT. Smarter players wouldn't have let this go to OT. You have a better team on the ropes you knock their *** out! I'm not saying the Jazz should have won because the Jazz are the best ever, I'm saying the Jazz worked (hard) to get themselves into a position to win and then took a giant ****.

lost 2 really close game against okc without exum and gobert. people lose their mind. just lol

The first month has been very tough. But the Jazz played every 2-3 days in the last 2-3 weeks and didn't play many back-to-back games compared to other teams. In addition the Jazz home-court is not a factor anymore, it seems the Jazz are playing better on the road.

Sigh...

This was a game we could have, should have won. You catch a team like OKC slippin' and you play a great game and then you lay down and take the loss anyway. It's frustrating. I'm frustrated. I'm sure the players are too. I'm sure Hayward is thinking about his bad pass with 1 sec to go. I'm sure they all wanted to win.

I don't think this team sucks, but you've got to be a little realistic and see that if this is what the team does than this is who the team is.

Isn't our record on back-to-back games actually really good?

In addition the Jazz home-court is not a factor anymore, it seems the Jazz are playing better on the road.

3 of Utah's 5 home losses were to top 4 teams: OKC (twice) and GSW. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that that's the reason why our home record doesn't look super good.

You're a clown.

I can't speak for dalamon but I see this year as a 44 win season and a playoff birth and hopefully one playoff game win.

I see next season (with Exum back, our core more developed (Lyles most of all), two 1st rounders in the fold, and perhaps the acquisition of a better backup 5 as a season in which 50-53 victories, and a playoff series win, is a tangible goal.

Then, I see the 2017-2018 season as our legitimate first shot at a let's ****ing go for it all season. Come playoff time that season, Hayward will still only be 28, Favors 26, Burks 26, Gobert 25, Exum 22, Hood 25 and Lyles 22.

Again Hayward would be our oldest player at 28 years of age.

Lebron won his first title at age 27 I believe.

We're right on track.

44 wins WOULD be exactly what I was hoping for this season. So yea, that'd be great. But I don't know what you are seeing that makes you think 44 wins.

some of these posts are straight embarrassing. We didn't even make the playoffs last year, and ppl wanna shut down a full-strength OKC in their barn
'People are disappointed we didn't win a game when we were up 16. IDIOTS!!!!!!'

You are full on homer/moving goal posts this year bro.

"This was the goal this season all along you fools!!!"

Sure it's frustrating, but I think what keeps getting lost here is the fact that these close Jazz losses this season have been, aside from the Detroit game, exclusively against elite teams. Cleveland, Golden State, OKC (twice). Those teams are all just fantastic down the stretch.

of course. Young teams are young teams.

did you factor a Rudy injury into that 44 win record? Cuz i'm betting that no one else did. Ironically, I still think they hit it even with him gone. This team has showed us tons, and it's impressive to see them still in the playoffs after such a gauntlet of a schedule.
