Go GET Teague

Ok people what say you?

Burke, Booker and OKC 1st for Teague

Yes or no?

just because Exum has shooting guard size does not necessarily mean that he's an ideal fit to plug and play at the 2 spot. I like Exum/Burks long-term more than Teague/Exum. . . and I really like a guard lineup of Teague/Exum/Neto at the 1 and Hood/Burks at the 2.

Hope DL stands firm and keeps Burks.
I agree with all of this

Lolololol.
**** you Atlanta

Seems like a pretty logical first offer from both sides.
Ahh, I see. Just the starting points and then meet in the middle.

That makes sense.

Un**** you Atlanta........ For now

Swap Burke for Teague, get Burks healthy and move Lyles into the rotation to finish out the season. Sounds like a good plan for a jump start on offense with how the team has been playing defense lately.

Sounds like a recipe for the 5th seed

I do this without a second thought. Keeping Burks is the key to this trade, I think his value as a slasher with the 2nd unit will be the big difference maker once he returns and helps us climb to higher seed in the playoffs

Moving Booker makes only sense in two scenarios:
-Freeing up cap space for the summer when you're sure you can sign someone to a big deal(When's the day his contract becomes guaranteed?)
-Netting a better individual player(Who can actually shoot - and by that I mean more than 3 attempts per game from range...)

lol. No. Getting Teague for Booker and Burke is pretty much getting him for free. You get a massive upgrade at the team's weakest spot, free up more playing time for Lyles, without losing anything of consequence. It is pretty much a dream scenario for the Jazz.

Even kicking in a protected first round pick (after 2017) is reasonable. Kind of hoping Burke has more trade value than we give him. I could see him being a more valuable asset than we give him credit for. He was a top 10 pick, played okay as a starter and has filled his bench job without complaint. I could see a team looking at him and thinking they can get more out of him than Utah has before his contract comes due for extension.

Im really surprised how many people are willing to include multiple picks when we have shown an ability to get steals in the latter half of the draft. If the team really does consist of a lot of players who will eventually have to get paid, we will want that influx of young and cheap talent.

I watched Atlanta last night and Teague looks really good... If we had more wing creators it would be fantastic. Burke is dealing with something... Hopefully it is truly jus flu like symptoms but Neto can't carry that bag every night. I think something will become available.

I wouldn't want to include multiple first round picks... The gsw or OKC is adequate in my mind. We do need that continuous influx of talent... I just don't know how many more guys we can add right now and give time to the next few years. We also have a billion 2nd rounders that will be used as draft and stash assets and hopefully produce a pipeline of talent.

I just don't want to keep kicking the can down the road while we are good enough to really get some guys good reps in competitive games and the playoffs. Adding another creator to compliment what hood and Hayward give us would be amazing. If a deal can be made that surrounds Burke a first rounder and cap fodder plus 2nd round picks we'd have to jump on it imo. If it's burks or hood the answer is no.

Also... Who the eff is this bird guy and who cares what he says?

I'm a huge fan of acquiring a ton of mid-late round picks for the gamble effect. I think that's the best playing-the-casino payback in today's NBA. I also think first round picks outside top 2 are insanely over priced >kanter Derrick williams Exum cough cough<.

That said, late round picks are mostly useless unless you have a ton of them to gamble with.

If Atlanta agrees to that trade, they should replace Bud as GM.

I'm shocked people want Teague for any of our players, or picks. While we are at it, let's just also trade Exum so we don't waste his talent. The notion of trading for Teague is absolutely dumb as hell while we have Exum.

If the Jazz make any trade for Teague, Jazz should look for another GM.

So you're willing to bet on Exum's full recovery, projected talent and improvement over moving very tradable, non-core assets over a prime, veteran, former allstar PG?

That, my friends, is treadmill mentality. If you can get 1.5 yrs of Teague for Burke/Book,Tibor, CJ, Ingles, etc/picks you do it and don't look back. There's a reason everyone and their mother knows our biggest weakness is PG. If Exum's injury affects his current game at all, he won't be a starter and we're back to looking for a starter quality PG. He's worth it as insurance period. If Exum is done then we have Teague to re-up. If Exum succeeds, then we move Teague hopefully before he hits FA.

This deal would be a bird-in-hand IMO and you do it and don't look back. If they require Burks/Hood you hang up.

That's a whole another argument. I was simply responding to your claim that Booker shouldn't be given up for Teague. Which is a ridiculous thing to say.

Exactly.
Those who DON'T want Utah to get a PG are counting on Exum to be 100% immediately AND to make a big leap in his game. That's a HUGE gamble to make in Hayward's opt out season. If Jazz struggle again because Dante is either still recovering his conditioning or confidence OR hasn't improved much over the HEALTHY Dante who couldn't drive or shoot, Hayward is as good as gone.

It's showing good faith to Hayward, Favors and the rest that the front office wants to win NOW and will spend the money to do so. They've all fought through injuries to keep the team in the playoff hunt. I think it would be a big disappointment if DL did nothing to improve the team. And Teague is so attractive because his contract is short. He steps aside when Dante is truly ready to lead and is off the roster by the time Utah needs the financial means to begin to re-sign everyone.
