Dennis Lindsey: We will be VERY active in free agency

My main point was that $13 for a starter is not that bad. And the Lakers are still $40+ under the floor. Wasn't there $1 billion under the floor to start free agency? Half the league will probably fall under it

Thanks for clarifying that. How many mid-tier players can you pay $13M and still afford 2-3 near-max players on your roster? This may be a formula that leads a team to be hamstrung or in luxury tax.

What Dallas is doing is "very active" for a borderline playoff team.

How so? They are going to get ditched by whiteside for Miami, have expressed interest in Moe Harkless like Utah and Parsons won't even talk to them.

Utah has been far more active than them so far.

It seems that the Jazz are intending to put together a very good defensive team. George Hill is a very good defensive player, Harkness too. They are getting rid of Trey Burke. Solomon Hill is also considered a very good defender. Dante is coming back...

We need to go ahead and lock in Favors on some extended deal now. I don't want to max him in 2 years.

I read somewhere last night that the Jazz can't do anything with Favors until September, because that is when he signed his extension. But yeah, when September hits they should restructure

Along with better outside shooting, versatility 1-5 and vet experience.

Saw somwhere that Lin's $12 per is only 12.5% of the cap. Not bad for a starter.

Per Marc Spears. Jazz are expressing interest in Moe Harkless. He's a restricted free agent for the Blazers.
That's probably the best of the bunch (deng, dudley, soloman) so far

Kind of nuts how his career has gone. True roller coaster ride. Glad to see that he's getting a good deal and hope it works out for him. Lived in NY during Linsanity and have been advocating taking him on since the Rockets were looking to dump him.

The new NBA reality is scary. Going to be a LOT of teams screwing thing up over the next few seasons. Hope the Jazz aren't one of them.

Harkless, Solomon Hill, Dudley....
This should be "very active"...?
More active than normal yes.

Like has been said though, I would like to see some info about the jazz contacting durant though.

Deng too. This is much more active than we've seen them in past free agencies. Active=\=big names

How so? Shot 28 % from 3 last year, and 18 % the year before that? Will still probably cost 12-15 million per year and take a 4 year contract.
I'm probably wrong

DeRozan got a near max deal from Toronto. 5 years, $140 million.

Batum got 5 years $120 million from Charlotte.

The big question is going to be what does Durant do? Take the money, or chase a ring. I think he stays now.

Pau Gasol will be an interesting test case? He's an All Star caliber player, but he's had injury issues and he's getting up there in years.

He's the guy I'd open up the vault for on a 2 year deal. Exactly the type of veteran presence this team needs to take a step up (or two.)

I checked it out.
Peeps are clever. Lots of lols.

****, I wish this site were around when I was single!

Right... just a little after my time.

He's the youngest and has most potential to improve... Think him and Rodney worked out a bunch at the same facility last summer.

I could see him being the best long term piece.

Dudley is the best fit but I'd limit it to a two year deal.

I hope hayward gets a deal exactly like derozans.

Think we could get him at 20M and descend from there?
Lol. No. If Noah is getting 4/72 million. Favors will see that and want more, and he should.
Thanks to everyone for providing info.
I don't have twitter, instagram, snapchap, tinder or any other social media and don't even know what most of that stuff is lol.

So thanks
Sounds like me. Lol
Mozgov and Clarkson will be pillars of the franchise! They'll exceed the greatest Laker duos of all time: Magic & Kareem, Kobe & Shaq, Kobe & Pau, West & Chamberlain, West & Baylor

Accuse me of Schadenfreude, I'm guilty.
Wait??! Is Moz their highest paid player!!?

Harkless, Solomon Hill, Dudley....

100% more active then the last... Well forever it seems. I think the last time they were truly active was the year they got over on a blind person and signed memo. Lol. That was a long *** time ago.
