What's new

2011 draft.....

I was thrilled Williams had such an attention stealing game because I too lean toward Barnes. The Jazz have a logjam at pf and unlike Williams there's no question IF Barnes can play sf.

I did see the big Dwill2 block on Youtube, but didn't see the game.

How was his defense overall?

The scouting report on him says he's not and won't be a stopper, but he has good fundamentals and puts in good effort, so at worst he won't be a liability. The problem with a guy like Jimmer is not only does he have no tools to guard anyone in the NBA, he has no fundamentals and puts in 0 effort. Jimmer is going to make Jason Kapono look like Ron Artest in his prime on D.

How does Utah get Kyrie Irving?

Utah trades both Lottery Picks, Paul Millsap, and Raja Bell to Cleveland for the #1 pick (Kyrie Irving) and Antawn Jamison.

Cleveland gets a starting PF, an inexpensive veteran that can mentor their young ones, 3 lottery picks (including the Clippers one) that will allow them to build faster, and saves $3 million dollars in salary that can be used for free agents

Utah gets its new PG of the future, who can learn from Devin Harris for a year; gets rid of Raja's salary and the playing time can go to Hayward and Miles; Antawn Jamison is an expiring contract who has still got game, provides a veteran presence, can mentor Favors, and can come off the bench (unlike Millsap) at the 3/4 to allow the proper starting line-up of Okur and Jefferson. Utah's future of Favors, Irving, and Hayward is not a bad threesome.

Yes....

Because Tony Parker, Steve Blake, Duron Williams, Andre Miller, Jason Barrera, Devin Harris, Ty Lawson, Chris Rock, Steve Nash, Mike Bibby, Baron Davis, Mo Williams, Jameer Nelson, Jason Terry, Raymond Felton, Stephen Curry, Jonny Flynn, Brandon Jennings, Beno Udrich, Jose Calderon, and Gilbert Arenas are such lockdown defenders....

Wow, does this draft blow. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of freshmen stay in school because of the potential lock out. It seems like the draft gets worse each year. Where have all the monster centers gone?

Most of them MOVE without the ball and are pretty quick. But I don't see many on there that have a ring either with that being said. So to go far you do need players that can play d. If you want someone that can just shoot we should have stuck with korver.. With the 12 pic for a steve kerr type player isn't bad but we don't have jordan on this team either to break things down. Most players from 9 down end up being dud players anyway. I hope you are not looking at jimmer with the 6 pic.

Everyone needs to understand, there is no need to read other threads. You just start one of your own, whatever the topic may be. If you log on and see a thread that says "For everyone who hates Jimmer" you should immediately start one entitled "I hate Jimmer". It is the JazzFanz newbie way.

It's beyond horrific. Just going on today's superstars of the future: Sullinger is a top 5 pick? He IS Paul Millsap. Except you have to pay him top 5 and hope he turns into something close to Sap. Jones is a joke. Definite athlete, but no apparent basketball skills that I can see. I've seen Barnes several times outside today. Average ballhandler, will struggle to get to the rim effectively in the NBA, and his shot is so slowwww. Knight just isn't ready for the NBA. Like, years away.

...and no more "Official...threads" - the joke needs to be retired with boom bitches, best buy, and the like.

What did you hear that from Memo at Best Buy? "Official" threads are the bomb. Boom bitches!

Well, Sullinger's stock may have taken a hit but he put up big numbers. We'll see.

Knight might play himself into the top 10 if he hasn't already. Hopefully top 5, or else be there at the 12 spot. Again, I'm against using the 6th pick on a PG if the Jazz can help it.

Terrence Jones didn't look that great tonight. And yet he averages what 17 pts/game? I understand he was pretty great offensively earlier in the year but for some reason has gone cold.

Defensively he looked really good though. I might be interested in him at the 12, but I'm not so sure at 6.

Again, let's just hope for top 3.
Otherwise at 6 I'm probably leaning Kanter. At least for today.
