Game Thread: Grizz @ Jazz Nov. 14th 2016

With a couple minutes to go Boler said, "...and Gobert is on the bench with 5 fouls, after taking himself out of the game".

Of course you can't trust anything Boler says..

No one rebounded. Not Just Lyles and Diaw. Gobert and Favors played a combined 43 minutes and have a combined 7 rebounds. Gobert was our leading rebounder with 5...

I'm not gonna bash Lyles when he is one of very few that actually showed up to play.

Johnson sucked, Favors sucked, Hayward sucked and Gobert sucked. Hill, Burks and Hood were out.

Exum was fun to watch. Lyles, Mack and Ingles are the only three that tried to win IMO.

we really missed rodney hood. he's our most under-rated player. He brings the juice every night and sky hooks for every rebound possible. If we had hood we woulda won.

Why was Withey's picture on a milk carton last night. He could have helped.

Because he probably isnt that good. He sees him in practice. Withey would have been the better choice.

I'm not going to pretend that I know how to do a proper rotation, but I too would have liked to see Bolomboy last night, and more so far this season. Agreed that he shouldn't have been brought in for the stretch though. But I don't see much harm with giving him a few minutes in the first half or more minutes in the blowout of the Heat. Makes sense to me with Favors' limited minutes and Withey being ineffective.

at what point does the Jazz physical training staff receive public scrutiny? if we have another season of 1/3rd of the rotation being injured nearly every game, there has to be some causality at some point right?

No way to tell. Only ones that could be their fault are Favors and Burks.

Hill and Hayward are bad luck.

Is it being a jazz fan that makes one insane? Or being insane that makes one a jazz fan?

Or maybe i guess it could just come down to the org putting all their apples in a basket full of injury prone players?

Who had proved to be injury prone before being signed to any contract? Dont talk out your ***.

Memphis had a great game plan and executed it well. They looked at the Jazz and saw one threat, Hayward, and mostly took him out of the game. When Ingles, Mack, and Trey lead the scoring your defensive plan was great. That and have Gasol shoot 3's over Rudy.

Favors need to take a break until he is truly 100% and can stay that way. He hurt the team last night.

Favors is our only good low post defender. Rudy does a lot of things well but guarding solid strong post players is not one of those for the most part.

We really need Favors to get healthy if we want to go anywhere this year by the time playoffs roll around. That or Lyles needs to greatly improve and we need to play differently than our current slow plodding style.

It might be a pipe dream to see this team fully healthy. I hope I am wrong. I am seeing the chances of a fully healthy Favors, Burks and no one else getting injured as slim.

This is a real bummer to think much less say out loud...type out loud. But it's accurate. The Jazz cannot and have not caught a break in quite a while.

Isn't it basically impossible to fully recover from what Favors/Hayward/Hill have during the season?

I dont see why Hayward and Hill cant get healed up unless we are not getting the full report which is likely. Favors I have no idea. I dont think have anywhere near enough info to know what is going on with him. I hope he can heal up but this might be something he deals with for awhile.

I mean, playing with an injured finger, it's going to get hit every game. Can a finger heal under those conditions? He is probably going to have his finger buddy-taped the entire season, right?

It can heal up. Plenty of players have had broken fingers that heal during the season. The splint he has on should do a good job. I am guessing it will be off in a couple weeks unless he has rebroke or agitated it, which could happen. If it is being constantly agitating it then it wont heal properly and be a bigger issue but I doubt they would be letting that happen.

As much as we want Hill back I would make sure he is properly healed. A wrist is easy to resprain or agitate and sprains usually take at least 6 weeks to properly heal. I doubt they keep him out that long though. I think they will bring him back early and hope it doesnt get hurt again, that seems to happen more often with wrist and ankle sprains.

But to be honest I leave injury stuff to better people than me. I deal with healthy people mostly or at least with doctors during the recovery process.
