Utah trades Derrick Favors, its own 2017 first-round pick and Golden State’s 2017 first-round pick to New York, as well as Shelvin Mack’s expiring to Cleveland; New York trades Carmelo Anthony to the Cavaliers; Cleveland trades Kevin Love to Utah.

Thoughts? Kevin Love would be the perfect stretch 4 next to Gobert, no? Our first rounder isn't going to be that great this year, and with Hayward, Gobert hitting their prime, this would put us squarely in the realm of Spurs, HOU and Clippers, making us a legit contender.

Thoughts?

This trade (or something like this) has been thrown around her a few times already. I think we all believe it is a great trade for everyone involved. The only problem is Cleveland doesn't want to trade Love for Carmelo. Now that Love has an injury, maybe they reconsider. Also, if LeBron wanted Carmelo it would get done. I would be all for this trade.

That's not Bill Simmons idea. It's every casual fans.

You would trade for a guy who is out for 6 weeks and could be more injury prone than Favors?

If you are asking if I would trade an injury prone Favors for an injury prone, all star, stretch PF, then yes, in a heartbeat.

2 firsts and Favors for a guy that doesn't play defense very well, is older, is more injury prone and we have to include other assets. NY makes out like gang busters. Everybody else gets screwed. Carmello is no better than Love or Favors is for a winning team. He's never won at an elite level and he's not good for team chemistry, because he's a ball hogging chucker, that plays almost no defense.

Can we please make a better effort at putting players' contracts into threads such as this?

this year:$21,165,675
17-18: $22,642,350
18-19: $24,119,025
19-20: $25,595,700 (player option)

****, I'd probably do it at this point. But I'd rather keep one of our 2017 picks and part with one of our 2018 picks instead.

I was going to say yes but this is a no.

An elite stretch 4 with 3 more years on his contract for the corpse of Favors? Nah, I'll pass.

That wasn't the trade proposed though. Jazz trade two first round picks as well. Have to look at salaries too as i believe love gets big bucks and jazz are looking to re-sign some dudes soon. I have no idea kevin loves age either but you should factor that in as well.
