2016 NBA Season Notes/Info

Yeah, Brow/Boogie will easily average 50 PPG, but idk where the other 50 points are going to come from. It's not going to happen for them this year. But as long as Cousins stays, they can compete long term; NOLA just has to put a few decent pieces around them.

Nah, they are going to suck next year too unless their GM works some magic. The biggest thing is what Jrue Holiday does. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves. Even if he stays though, their wings still blow.

Pelicans are 4 losses behind the 8th seed DEN.

If I were the Pelicans I'd tank this year (only 20+ games left). Grab a nice wing player in the draft, and re-start next year. They're not going to do anything this year anyway without any talent outside of Jrue, Boogie and Brow.

If I was New Orleans I would let Jrue go and go after George Hill. Offer him a good chunk and try and ask him to help the team take the next step like he did with the Jazz. I would be mad as a Jazz fan but he would be a good fit for them as well. I would also go after Gallinari and also another Jazz guy Ingles. Although I dont think they will have much cap space to go after players. So maybe try and retain Jrue and just go after any sharp shooting wing like Ingles. Unless they can get someone to take Asik, Soloman Hill and/or Moore off their hands. Those three are tying up 30 million next year and signed until 2019/20 season.

I find it hard to believe anyone wants to go play with DeMarcus Cousins outside of his old teammates at UK.

You know that they're owing the Kings their first round pick with a 1-3 protection, right?

Moore and Solomon Hill aren't going anywhere I don't think.. They're both shooting 3's pretty damn well..

The Asik contract sits there like a middle-finger pointed in your direction whenever you look at their salaries/possible scenarios.

If I was them I'd consider gambling with Tim Frazier as the starting point next season and look to allocate much of the space to one big name thats decently young.

Thought the same thing as soon as the trade was announced.

I'm convinced there's really something to those tactics given the nature of their already imbalanced cap structure on a multi-year outlook..

They've already 'double-downed' on bigs there must be one of the smaller positions filled in with tremendous value.. It's something the Clips have been (spectacularly) failing at with the SF spot for years..

The Knicks just did it to themselves with the Joakim Noah deal, now they've gotta double-down on a big to cover the misstep or the much more likely move, leave it as is, address the perimiter and leave Porz out there for dead..

IMO it's the type of move teams are too often scared to make. It's one of those things where I think teams see it as a calculated gamble and prefer to go with a safer more sensible option that wont look as horrific if it goes wrong to the press/fans...

If I was them I'd have given an asset to unload Ajinca... They need to clear every penny they can, I'm genuinely puzzled about them not clearing more space... Pondexter too.. I assume Asik is just completely untradable so they're only working with 90% of what other teams have carrying his deadweight.

If I'm Jrue there's no way im rushing to resign there..
