Playoff Game 3: Jazz vs Clippers 8pm Mountain Time ESPN 2

Bolomboy is perfectly capable of playing bad defense and looking at rebounds bounce away from him. He'd play with energy which is sorely needed in the paint. If Favors can actually be good for 20 minutes a game like some here claim then I'd rather play him 20 minutes and go 4 on 5 the rest of the game instead of that 36 minute abortion Favors put on the court tonight.

Neto wasn't supposed to work either, effort can go a long way in the NBA.
Neto played minutes against Felton. You are asking bolomboy to play pick n roll defense against dj and Paul. No thanks.

Why are people going on rants about our offense in a game where our offensive rating was 120?

Blows my mind.
Have to admit that 4 points total combined from your starting 4 and 5 isn't very good though right?

BOler: Somehow Reddick outhustles Boris to get that ball.

Yep, somehow.

I want Hayward to get after those 50-50 balls.
I couldn't believe that boris didn't get that loose ball.

He looked extra slow all game imo.

Increasing my frustration and blues with the team is our backup PG position and our backup PF.

Exum is a #5 draft pick who can't beat out Neto and Mack.
Lyles is another lotto pick who can't beat out old Boris Diaw.

What would've been had either or both of these guys panned out the way they were supposed to?

Who else could we have drafted? Wasn't Booker selected after Lyles? We probably could've used his scoring last night...

We have two lotto picks that were supposed to be key members of our team who can't get off the bench. They either suck and are tremendous busts, which really makes me blue since we have a solid core right now. Or Quinn needs to play them so we can get some value out of our lotto picks.

We shouldn't have to rely on Neto, Mack, or Diaw.

And at this point, if we must rely on Diaw and Joe Johnson to play 4, we might not win another game.

Booker would have been behind Hood, Ingles and Hayward in the rotation anyways. He would not be the player he is today, imo. Hindsight is 20/20. You say Exum can't beat them out but I think it's just a matter of Quin not playing him. Surely he couldn't be worse than Mack.

Because our offense wasn't good. Our starting frontcourt scored 4 pts. That's it. Don't mistake career games from Hayward and Hill as good offense. That's a big reason why we choked in the 4th. Hayward and Hill had carried us the entire game. Nothing left in the tank and the clippers knew they didn't have to defend certain players.

Blows my mind.

We dont need our PF to score a ton. WE just need them to be able to rebound and help on the weakside when Favors gets in a PNR.

I think Griffin being out actually makes the Clippers more dangerous. Since Griffin is considered a "star", the Clippers are obligated to get him involved in the offense and take a lot of shots. But he's sort of like an Enes Kanter...a black hole when he get's the ball in the post. Their offense becomes one-dimensional and easier to guard. Him being out makes CP3 the clear cut go to guy on the team and he is ****ing dangerous. The Jazz have no answer for him.

In theory I get what you are saying, but it also puts a ton of pressure on CP3 to carry the entire game. Griffin never played a great 48 minute game against the Jazz in the first two games, but he had stretches of dominance (or at least very good play) each game. But yeah, it does steer the Clippers away from some of the low percentage possessions they feel obligated to run for Griffin that dont always produce results.

Speights always has that scary potential of rattling off 3's and ****ing up your defense, but he is also a sieve on defense and not a great rebounder.

Worst part of all this **** is that Warriors fans are probably just sitting back and laughing that whoever they get out of Clips/Jazz, they are going to be injured as **** as they sleepwalk through the Blazers.

How good could the Jazz be with Chris Paul tho? Kind of scary to think of him leaving the Clippers and joining either the Spurs or Jazz.

More than 4 points worth certainly.

IDK about that. I'd like to see us just run 1 post up for Favors. Make him feel like he is a part of the offense and not just a body to try to slow down DeAndre. Not involving a player at all to give him confidence is something that come back to bite you in the *** when that player goes to the FT line in a pressure situation.

If Jazz roster were to stay together (except replace Hill with CP3) and remain healthy for a season...Jazz win 60 games and probably be the only team capable of taking down Golden State.
