If Hayward Leaves?

You're trying too hard.

Seriously. Second year of playing. Major Knee injury. Was a project pick before the knee injury. I mean what did people expect? He needs time to develop, and he needs to be able to play through some mistakes like any other young player. This culture of needing immediate all-star level play is dumb. Exum has shown flashes that only the dimmest bulbs couldn't see as worthy of some developmental attention and time.

Even if he develops only into a serviceable starter that plays great defense, or just a rotation player he's still worth developing in a scenario where Hayward leaves. You can't really say he's had a great chance to show what he can do in game situations this season. Unleash him next year, and see what he has if there's no pressure to win big.

Dante's gift is his speed, but the Jazz play at such a snails pace. It's like using a Ferrari to tow a horse trailer.
If Dante played for a faster pace team like the Warriors or Rockets, he'd blossom into a great player.

Lol if Hayward leaves you start over? How about we just go balls out and do this.

Russell (trade)
Hood
Carmelo (trade)
Favors
Gobert

There's your star primary scorer, 3 point shooting, and your two twin towers of destruction right there.

Btw, those two guys could easily be obtained.

Good lord I'm glad Utah is Utah and Melo would never OK a trade here just for the fact this team would be impossible to build.

I don't think it's possible for me to be anymore bummed about basketball than I was when I found out the Jazz traded D-Will.

What's funny is a lot of people were calling Hayward a 2nd or 3rd option on a championship team and now most people are certain the Jazz are doomed without him. Sure - if he leaves it's going to suck and getting nothing in return when we could have made a trade with Boston last season/this season will not be nice. But we're not automatically doomed and although I'm not opposed to trading the underachieving dead-weight, moving Gobert is absolutely out of the question.

WTF are all our players doing this summer? We know Gobert isn't doing national team. Why haven't we drafted a campaign to do what the Clippers did for (to) DeAndre Jordan? Somebody get Olden Polynice on the phone to provide security and enforcement, have Jerry clock someone, have the LDS church threaten Danny Ainge with excommunication, have BYU take away his alumni membership, have Donny Osmond publicly plead for him to trade for Paul George instead, somebody tell Hayward that dala thinks Brady is a bigoted POS, have Mitt Romney, as an official ambassador of Utah and former governor of Massachusetts tell Hayward to STFO of Boston, tell him that if he signs with Boston that they have to renounce all their free agents and will be left filling out their roster with Nomar Garciaparra and Mark Walberg, have Dell Schanze threaten to go on a killing spree, have Wilford Brimley give Gordon the same friendly talk he gave Tom Cruise in "The Firm," etc., etc., etc. It's time to step it up. Ainge is the new Cuban.

The few remaining "Give Dante the Reigns" crowd is cute. I only give him the reigns to increase his worthless ***' trade value.
This post gives me hope for exum
