One of Leaf, Giles, Kuruc, Bam, Jeanne and Kennard is very likely to drop to 24. It's just a numbers game.
They traded their second first-round pick to Portland as part of the DWill trade then drafted CJ in the 2nd round.

Lmao, please dont act like Bam being there at 24 is him "dropping".
I'd say past 35Anything outside the top 18 for him is 'dropping.'
stitches wasted our 30th pick smh
It's not wasted. Believe it or not CBA has some archaic rule that allows teams to keep the rights to players that return to school after the draft(NCAA doesn't allow it, but the NBA does, so that's what we are going with in this mock off-season) for the next 3 years. In other words, we get Hamidou whenever he gets in the draft. I think he will probably be a lottery pick next year. And we got him at 30 this year in our mock off-season. It's a bit like a NCAA stash.
My memory may not be exact, but I'm pretty sure Utah gave CJ miles a 1st round promise, and then when that pick was traded, they ended up drafting him in the 2nd round.
Anyway, these so called promises are probably never guarantees anyway. I'm sure teams make it clear that it's possible something could come up, but they are 97% they take so and so with a certain pick.
It would be dumb to completely handcuff your team when you never know what opportunity might pop up, such as a trade offer or a certain player falling that nobody thought would.
Edit: What happened is that Utah was able to use the pick they promised to CJ in the trade for Deron Williams, so Utah would have been looney to keep that promise.
Anyone else like Tyler Lydon... I think he might be flying under the radar and I'd happily draft him at 24. Great shooter, good passer, gets more steals and blocks than you might think, good enough size for the 4. Needs to get into P3 and get the Gordon Hayward treatment, but a lot to like there and no fatal flaw.
Bad work ethic isnt a fatal flaw?
Not sure that is really a thing... I mean his body fat came in high, but he looks like a kid that just plays basketball and hasn't been put on a proper weight lifting routine.
You don't get a jumper as sweet as his by not working.
I've heard it in draft podcast by draft people. Your body fat coming in at 14% as a kid who isnt known as being bulky is a red flag. Dont give me BS about Syracuse not having proper weight lifting, they are a rich program. It's not like the dude was coming out of a mid-major.
maybe its a nutrition thing then... it's not like they are NBA level athletic development programs... Looking at his profile he has made improvement to his body (from draft people).
Dude is still pretty athletic and you don't shoot 40% from three by not getting in the gym. I don't think he's a bad worker... many guys have come in with similar body fat% and been fine. Easier to drop some fat than it is to add muscle.
Yes, on the podcast I remember saying Tyler Lydon eats a lot of candy/junk food. Can that be improved, sure. Kevin Love really worked hard and changed his body. But Lydon isnt better than any of the other stretch 4's in the draft.
Sure... just don't think that's a fatal flaw... it's a highly correctable flaw. Fatal flaw would be like he is too small or athletic ceiling may be too low or a completely busted jumper.
i don't think his body fat is an indicator of his work ethic... likely a bad habit... many guys adjust their nutrition in the NBA when they get good advice and such.
I guess not, but being 21 and in the prime of your metabolic youth, it's concerning. If you can't get in shape after a season of playing basketball and a few months of training time in preparation for the biggest workouts interviews of your career, what will motivate you?
Lyles had a similar issue and after his promising rookie year showed little signs of progress in year 2, which could point to work ethic.
