The reports I've read said it was at a campaign office, which I guess could be his home. There was a BBQ going on and there were other reporters present from various media outlets. I'm not sure the location changes anything.lol you guys didn't even know they were at his house.
sorry fishonjazz, i love you, i hate to contradict you!I think using the word "house" makes your scenario apples to oranges.
Using the word "workplace" works better imo.
For that matter, I know some of you have been in fights, whether with siblings or strangers.
If a guy is hitting on you, how likely are you to give a play by play of what's happening? We all know this "journalist" was instigating things. That doesn't justify Gianforte's actions at all, but it sure would be nice if members of the media held themselves to the same standards they hold everybody else too.

Where is the source that the alleged assault took place at his house? I can’t find it. All the press reports I've read, every one of them, including local reports from Montana papers and the eyewitness account by the Fox News reporter who was invited to interview Gianforte, said the incident took place at Gianforte’s campaign headquarters in Bozeman and that the BBQ was also at campaign headquarters in an adjoining room.
Link to eyewitness account:

Ok bud. So far we have your word against eyewitness accounts of what transpired. At this point I'm convinced you're just trolling. He was at his house, in a room holding an individual interview with another reporting team.
Btw, I'm shocked that something that doesn't fit your point of view is irrelevant.![]()

On Wednesday, I joined field producer Faith Mangan and photographer Keith Railey in Bozeman for our scheduled interview with Gianforte....During that conversation, another man — who we now know is Ben Jacobs of The Guardian — walked into the room with a voice recorder, put it up to Gianforte's face and began asking if he had a response to the newly released Congressional Budget Office report on the American Health Care Act. Gianforte told him he would get to him later. Jacobs persisted with his question. Gianforte told him to talk to his press guy, Shane Scanlon.
I have yet to see a single report that says the events took place at Gianforte's home. Nor do those reports make it sound as though the reporter was out of line in what he did.The eyewitness account says the same thing I did...

I did read where he has a nice house on the Gallatin River (where some of the fly fishing scenes from “A River Runs Through It” were filmed), but assumed his campaign headquarters would be separate. It is commendable the Fox reporter retracted the choking portion of her statement since she was the original and only source for that colorful tidbit which admittedly made the whole incident sound much worse.Which was at his house/estate however you wanna put it. Bottom line, his personal property.
Btw, the Fox reporter did end up saying that he never put his hands around Jacob's neck.
Gianforte is not his boss so I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.Barging into a private interview and repeatedly asking the same question even after they tell you that they'll get to you after isn't out of line? Try that with your boss and see how it goes.
Horrible? I think we disagree. He did something very stupid, not horrible. Tell you what, I'll go to your house, get in your face and refuse to leave. We'll see what you do. Fair?

#1 This district is 90 percent white.
But for anyone into political statistics, it's pretty obvious that 2018 is going to be a massacre for repubs. In even the reddest districts, repubs are barely squeaking by. Most districts aren't going to be 90 percent white and so supportive of Trump. For districts that are competitive, that sub 40 percent approval rating by Trump will prove to be a hinderance rather than an asset. Districts light red or purple will be painted blue. Most models show democrats retaking the House well over 50 percent of the time. Once Democrats take the House, Trump's presidency will be over. They'll either impeach him or block any legislation. Trump should be working as hard as he can to accomplish his agenda right now. He's not and soon he'll run out of political capital anyway.
