It's ****ing pathetic for anybody to defend what happened here. The guy asked a question that this douchebag didn't want to answer, and then when he persisted, he was physically assaulted.
It's one thing to say this was an isolated incident and you aren't going to judge too harshly based on that, and another thing completely to rationalize why anyone would have the right to assault someone because they didn't like their line of questioning.
There were a lot of things I liked about Montana in my 12 years living there, but words can't describe how great it is to get out of the shadow of redneck politics.
It's gotten to the point with republicans that they'll vote for any jackass, just so long as there's an (R) next to their name.
