A Big Move on the Horizon?

I wonder if the Jazz would consider moving Exum. I thought his playing in Summer League might have been in part a move to show some trade value. I think the Jazz still like him, but they'd move him in an opportune deal, especially with the way Mitchell has been playing with the ball in his hands.

The Spurs like Exum. The Suns might like him too.

This doesn't really make sense to me. They're under the luxury tax... and they don't really have salaries to match and if they actually wanted him on the team they probably could sign him without giving up anything and for cheaper after the Jazz or whoever waive him.

They just re-signed Lowry and traded Corey Joseph for CJ Miles. They're keeping Ibaka too. Are you sure they're under the LT?

Yeah they dumped Carroll to Brooklyn and lost Patterson. They are either under or right around it.

Think they just reaching out to talk to Diaw about joining the team once he gets waived.

Anyone know what the **** Orlando is doing? They have a mix of young talent and overpriced young vets. Do they even have a GM at this point?

Udoh is most likely a back-up 5.
Jerbeko is most likely a back-up 4.
Sefalosha is most likely a back-up 3, though he could start in a pinch.

Given how little the Jazz played Favors and Gobert together, it really does look like the Jazz are positioned to trade Favors and/or Joe Johnson for a starting-caliber PF or combo forward.

Gobert / Udoh / Bradley
??? / Jerbeko
Ingles / Sefalosha
Hood / Mitchell
Rubio / Exum / Neto

Joe Johnson is backup 4. Jerebko will get minutes though because the Jazz don't want to overwork Joe. I don't think Joe gets traded. Favors may be traded but it might not be until the deadline.

It is amazing how fast and wildly Jazzfanz swings on Favors. One day it is all about keeping him and the next day it is they better trade him while they still can.

It's amusing.

I don't think Favors is serious about re-signing with the Jazz. That's the real issue here. Extension talks got nowhere last year, and Favors' role has been usurped to some degree by Gobert.

I'm sure they went nowhere because he knew his value was at an all time low.

The Jazz financial outlook and what the FO is willing to do has probably massively changed. Perhaps the Jazz were not serious about bringing him back.

It's odd that Boris has posted his goodbyes before an official announcement.

I'm sure the FO has been having an open dialogue with him. I would bet they've told him thanks, but that they're "moving in a different direction" and that they'll accommodate his requests as best as possible.
