A Big Move on the Horizon?

Also, Utah wants to see what Exum can do now that he finally has a full off season to train. And I think the FO started drooling when they saw Exum and Mitchell on the court together.

As of right now I think Exum and Mitchell are a big part of the future.

People might be forgetting how young the Jazz still are.

Mitchell - 20
Exum - 22
Hood - 24
Gobert - 25
Favors - 25
Rubio - 26

Average age of that core is 23.6
Outside of that young core you have this group of key players. . .

Joe Ingles - 29
Ekpe Udoh - 30
Jonas Jerebko - 30
Thabo Sefalosha - 33
Joe Johnson - 36

Average age of this group of bench players is 31.6 years old. Jingles is the only guy likely to be here after two seasons. The Jazz are building towards that offseason. They'll likely keep Hood and Exum next year. No idea what happens to Favors. IMO, he's the biggest wildcard on the team. If he's healthy and close to where he was two years ago. . . this team could be pretty damn incredible.

The Sefalosha and Jerekbo contracts can be used as expirings at the trade deadline or next offseason. I don't see both of those guys being in Utah for more than 1 year honestly.

Burks is only 25 as well

He is a guy who once upon a time played well enough for the jazz to sign him to a long term deal.
Still under contract for the utah jazz for multiple years, though many people like yourself have forgotten that.

As long as he is under contract with the utah jazz I will consider him a part of the team. Sorry.

Fish may be the only poster who still has real estate on Burks Island. He ain't selling low. I sold most of my property but still have a condo there just in case.

Jesus Joe is skewing the mean quite a bit there. . .

I like Burks, he is exciting to watch. But he just doesn't feel like he fits this team. Part of that is his play style and part is him just not being healthy enough to play.

For me Burks Island is a nice play to visit for a weekend but I'm not buying any property.

I think the Rockets would do this trade in a heartbeat.
I think the Jazz would be very interested.
Detroit probably wouldn't be excited to give up 2 starters for 1. And the Knicks probably wouldn't want to lose Melo and a first round pick. Houston not having 1st rounders to send Detroit's way might doom that deal.

I think there have been rumors about them trying to dump Reggie Jackson. There was a rumor they where trying to trade him to NOLA for Alexis Ajinca and Etwaun Moore.

I won't sell my condo until he can get consistent playing time. I know he didn't fit well last year, but he needs to get on the court consistently to get his feel back. He was always a guy who took one too many dribbles, but it wasn't as bad prior to the Paul Pierce BS foul.

I'd like to see him back but I struggle to see how he gets rotation minutes. Until Hood goes out (which I don't want but it's inevitable) we won't see him unless he is taking minutes from DM or Exum, which both guys are likely ahead of him on the depth chart. I almost hope we trade him for his sakes. Dude has been a good soldier and I'd love to see him have a great career.

The disconnect for me in all of this is does Cleveland want Melo? If they do I can't see how NY isn't interested in Love for Melo... I also can't see us being so uninterested we wouldn't offer Favs and JJ or Burks for him. I think if Cleveland finally says okay LBJ we will give you Melo that we could steal Love on the cheap.

I think Houston's offer is garbage but NY's alternative is to buy the guy out or try to talk him back in to playing for them.

JJ within 2 standard deviations of the mean.

average age without JJ: 30.5
average age with JJ: 31.6

JJ pushes the average up 13 months, 6 days.

This doesn't sound right. Ya see, Joe Jesus doesn't age. So any age assigned to him should not count.

He is without beginning of days or end of years... alpha and omega.

One thing I have honestly thought... what if JJ scored 20 a game this year for us. If we traded Favs and started him I wouldn't put it past him.

I might start doing hot yoga...
