What's new

2011 draft.....

I've just watched the combine. It would be very difficult to pass Kanter if he is still available at #3. Kid has the talent. I really liked the power dunks that shook the basket.

I also am a sucker for a basket shaking dunk. Sometimes I would lower the basket in my driveway to the 8' mark and bust out my parents Hi8 camcorder and do my own version of "boooom-shacka-lacka".....very similar to what you saw today. I also have a bit of a sweet tooth.........

What's our rotation like if we take Kanter? Seems like we would have to trade/get rid of somebody to make room for the minutes he'll need.

Kanter would see limited minutes until he either earns more minutes or someone is moved. I think this is why Kanter didn't mention Utah as one of his preferred teams because immediate minutes will be difficult to come by.

Yeah, someone has to be moved if they take Kanter. But he's the most valuable asset there. You have to take him. Then figure out if you want to trade him or another big - which will bring in more than a guard not named Kyrie.

Come on. Kanter has to know Okur plays for Jazz. Wouldn't he want to play with Okur?
Here's a good question. Who is Turkeys greatest player?
Can a case be made for Okur?
If so then certainly Kanter would want to play with Okur.
Kanter probably doesn't realize Jazz now have a chance to get him.

I think he cares more about getting PT than having a Turkish teammate.

I heard someone mention this elsewhere, but if we take Kanter, what would people think of a straight up trade of Big Al Jefferson for Iguodala? I'm not a big fan of Iguodala's, but he would fill a hole at SF. I don't know if Philly would bite on that one, though. The money is about the same, Iggy just has 1 extra year than Al.

I would just hate to take Kanter and have him rot on the bench until Memo gets injured. Actually, he may not be on the bench much after all.....

These are the players I still like.
Of course one of Williams, Irving, and Kanter with the 3 pick... but for the 12...

If we get Irving, we should take Singleton.
If we get Kanter, we should take Jimmer.
If we get Williams, we should take Jimmer.

I still like Brooks, and Faried but don't think we should take them this high. I wouldn't mind Biyambo but I don't think he will fall to 12.

Thats all, TIA for not caring.

that is real. i mean, it's really hard for him to come off the bench and not get much minutes while he could be a starter elsewhere, playing 35 mins a game and become the rookie of the year. kanter would not be a fan of staying on the bench after what happened to him this year. he wants to play and show the world who he is. if they don't trade one of either jefferson or milsap for a wing or guard, it's a bad pick. you simply can't waste a talent like kanter and get him 15-20 mins a game from the bench...

Which is why if Jazz take Kanter, Millsap is odd man out. Jazz would have a great rotation of Favors, Jefferson, Kanter, and Okur.

Sweet, three slow turds and Favors. Where is Kanter going to get touches with Jefferson on the team?

Millsap has value in the league. At the very least Phoenix wanted him for Pietrus and Lopez and maybe their draft pick. I'd see what else is out there, but one thing I would want is a 2012 1st round pick, preferably unprotected.
