What's new

Nikola Mirotic

I love the passion radiohegel, but I don't think Chicago has any desire to trade Dunn at this time. And I think the Bucks are hoping Parker ends up being the missing piece for contention this year.

Our best bet for Parker is to clear off Hood and either Burks or Rubio before the deadline. Then all we would need is a minor deal in the summer to open up the necessary money.

If you read the comment, I'm using the three Bulls players to = the salary of Mirotic. Ignore those players and insert Mirotic.

Oh, my apologies. I thought I saw Robin Lopez in there (who I've been using to simulate Mirotic).

Mirotic wants to play for Snyder and the Jazz so his no-trade clause is only good news.. Jazz could turn into a dangerous team with Mirotic starting alongside Gobert.
I'm not sure if he can help long-term though.

We need a third star who can score. Everyone not named RG and DM is expendable for that cause. In theory we can afford to be patient, in fact we perhaps should while GSW is dominating the league but I'm guessing Millers are not happy with losses piling up. So DL might feel like making a move now. And that's OK unless he surrenders another pick.

You'd think so, but it might just be hopeful posturing.

Sure, but I am not doing the work we would have to just to try and call their bluff.

We do have Zanik though... he could give us a great idea of how they really view him.

The more bidders that get involved (Portland, Detroit) the less likely we are to make the deal, I think. Those two are both playoff teams with much lower and less important first round picks and a greater incentive to shed them in order to improve.

It also tells me we aren't likely offering a first and that they may be posturing. Any salary coming back from those teams will be bad multi-year contracts.

100% sure I did it wrong, but the locked on bulls guy linked a reporter - Vincent Goodwill. His take is seen above.

Market is tepid... we ain't doing a first rounder... AB's name is a surprise to me.

If the Bulls don't want AB, then just take JoeJ or Favors. We throw in a 2nd this year and a 2nd in the future.

We can't be patient at all. It's very possible that Gobert has already peaked and is heading into veteran maintenance mode. I hope that's wrong, but given that it might be true, the time to build a contender is now, or the time to tank is now. There's no winning strategy worth pursuing in between those two options outside of hoping to get unworldly lucky in the draft.

AB doesn’t surprise me. Love the guy, but he’s not part of the future in Utah. It’s time to move him to a team that will use him.

Just wish Snyder would’ve used him more to raise his value. If the Jazz can move Burks, Rubio and JJ. . . that fixes a huge percentage of what’s going wrong right now.

So the Bulls don't want Alec? Assuming that rumour is true....

-I am surprised the Bulls are reluctant to take on salary. They are only committed to 48 Million next season and nobody is coming in as a FA.
-More surprising is that a rebuilding team with seamingly ample cap room sees Burks 11.5 as a drag. Of all the likely Jazz trade-baits I would consider Alec as having the most upside, if not the highest ceiling.

So it looks like the Pistons and Fail Blazers are in the mix too for Niko M
The bulls would have to take on long term salary to trade with the Blazers. They won't do that. I think most of the Blazers contracts are 2 years after this one. No way Bulls do that imo unless they get a young talented player and a first round pick. Blazers are painted into a corner with their contracts

I'm starting to think that the best trade we can make with Burks is Asik, Ajinca and the NOLA 2018 1st for Burks. They are desperate for any wing who can help them score and anybody who can help them win enough to make the playoffs. Asik and Ajinca are absolutely worthless.

I just don't see any trade where we trade Burks for an expiring.

this If we could manage to move Rubio it'd solve a bunch of problems. AB i don't think is as much of a problem this year.

Then we don’t trade him. Let the deal just run out and pick up the cap space. Jazz have struggled, but the future is bright enough that they shouldn’t sell cap flexibly for crappy assets.

If DL get Mirotic for AB and some seconds I think he gets a statue at Vivent too.
