What's new

Utah Jazz @ New Orleans Pelicans -- Feb 5, 6pm MST

Jazz nearly had 4 starters with 20 points.

That’s awesome. Kinda how the team is built. When we are on there are lots of guys that can score 20 and quin likes the ball to get in everyone’s hands.

It’s just too bad it seems like everyone is either on or everyone is off. Love the way they’re playing right now, but there’s been very few close games this season. The Jazz are either blowing a team out or getting blown out, that middle ground has been hard to come by.

For the most part Hood played within the offense tonight. He forced a bit but for the most part was in the flow of the game. I really wonder if he isn't feeling so much pressure knowing he's on the trading block and figures wtf, just go play. The offense clicking and not forcing him to feel like he needs to be the primary scorer probably helps also. It will be interesting to see his approach to next game if he is still with us.
He’s stopped a few things he was trying earlier in the season. He’s not looking to draw fouls that aren’t there and is just confidently shooting the ball. There was a stretch of games where on every jump shot he was falling to the ground or complaining to the ref. Now he’s just shooting.

....also he’s hoping for a payday, whether from the Jazz or elsewhere and he needs to start playing good if that’s going to happen in any way.

Gawd damn, who is this Jazz team? I've never seen this team before. Did the GS Warriors body snatch the entire team without anyone noticing? o_O
yall remember that the jazz were blistering-hot during another 5-game win streak earlier THIS SEASON, right? wtf is with all this shock?

Ellis is probably right though. It must be due to trade stuff. I can’t imagine quin would put him that far into the doghouse.
lol

Other than tonight, Burks has 4 other games with 0 minutes played. He also has 5 games where he played fewer than 10 minutes. In other words, this is hardly something without precedent; 10 games is something like 20% of the season this far.

'can't imagine...'

Agree. I think people forget how much was put on his shoulders early and how much we asked him to modify/adapt his game.

I am definitely no expert on how deep the draft is... But how deep is it? I mean is a top 6-7 pick the equivalent of a top 3 this year (or has some of the hype around some dropping off?)
Im with you. No expert. Not enough hrs in the day if I started watching college sports too.

I genuinely beleive last years draft has HOFers littered through it and will inevitably go down as one of the best draft classes ever. The odds of consecutive draft classes like that is really low.

From what Ive seen and read there are 4-5 top players then a large drop off. Trae Young imo has bust written all over him, will be fun to see how it all turns out.

Who would've thought the Jazz would completely erase their offensive woes and start playing so much better if they gave Rubio the ball and picked up the pace, right? ;)

Hard to play 5 wings or 7 backcourt players. O'Neale has beaten out Burks for Ingles on bench spot. Hood and Mitchell have a lock to be on the court, and Snyder obviously likes the consistency of Neto.

Didn't play garbage time 'cause Snyder likes giving guys a chance to enter an NBA game, and Niang got that tonight.

Were those games blowouts where every single other player played?
Context matters

Trading Hood makes sense if you can get something worthwhile.

It's the same old routine with the fans though. That's the point I was making. You get a guy who's got a unique and needed talent and he's hated and they want him to be traded. If we trade him or don't re-sign him than the fans will be clamoring for a wing player that can knock down the 3 ball with regularity. That's exactly what Hood does already.

Was it first 2 3 pointer game ever by Favors? If he can knock it down with consistency this Gobert/Favors can't play nonsense will be distant past.

No. There was a game earlier in the year.
