Tony Jones recently said on Twitter there's no chance the Jazz would bring in Gordon even with Fournier attached (who's a lot better fit than Biyombo) just because Fournier's contract is $17M/year through 2021.
So you're right, everyone is afraid of contracts right now.
Oddly enough, I think Fournier is worse for us than Biyombo. For one, Fournier has one more year of $17 million than Biyombo. Secondly, Fournier is a starter and he would be a 6th man here behind Mitchell and Ingles. And lastly, Biyombo is excellent insurance in case Gobert gets hurt or in playoff foul trouble. I would hate to pay the guy, but it's not like he's Noah and worthless money.
