Jazz select Grayson Allen at 21

But he looks like ****ing He-Man?

I just like that his last name starts with Al and his first name starts with something that rhymes with gay. Gotta riff Big Gay Al from South Park under those circumstances.

Nothing to do with his looks lol its name play. But actually come to think of it, he looks like skelator

Then let me do it... quick simulation.

I call DL... he picks up...

“Hey this KBD guy that you worked out... good shooter and has the longest arms ever... he was supposed to be picked like 15-20 picks ago... I see a lot of picks being moved... what do you say we trade with a team for one of those... we have extra picks and we can use some cash we’ve banked the last few years.”

DL: did he go to Duke or Baylor?

Me: no but good players can be picked from any college.

DL: k I’m on it... good talk.

Me: also, can you tell Danny Ainge to eff off for me? TIA

Eh. I think what DL has been doing has been working.
Agree to disagree.

Can’t wait for next season. I really really like the roster that DL has assembled.

Get better at drafting 2nd rounders. This front office has two assistant GMs (one who has worked as a legit GM for years). Or ****, just look at the BPA ticker at the bottom of the screen and go "Okay, that guy."
Hilarious, Numberica. But I agree.
I find it fascinating that in the Lindsey era the Jazz bring in what, about 70-80 guys? I think the first couple of years it was closer to 90. Maybe it was fewer this year; I remember Dennis saying they were going to cut down.

But all those players, year after year, and not one "hidden gem." Not even a winning DLeague team stocked with talent Lindsey and Perrin may have discovered. On the contrary, Lindsey has traded out or sold 2nd round picks, or picked scrubs that never sniffed the roster.

It's like he just gives up after the 1st round, shuts down the war room and takes everyone out to a 4-star restaurant to celebrate, using the money he acquired from selling picks.

I think it has more to say how well managed the organization is than how bad they are with second rounders. I'm mean, they're second rounders. Teams have hard enough times picking lottery players.

Then we should sell our first rounders too... I mean most of those guys don’t pan out... plus if we hit on more of them how would we pay all the talent.

Oh I like DL. He’s great and is a wonderful communicator... think he really sets the tone... just think we have a couple blind spots... this stuff is hard and DL has been fairly direct in saying there is luck involved.

**** this dude and **** Butler.

We gonna act like we signing him to a real nba contract... then release a post on our blog... “Thank you Kelan”

Announce we’ve cut him and never call or text.

Dude! AND they can make like... more than 500k on one of those!

Plus lots of roster spots... call Stockton’s kid, hornaceks kid, and ostertags kid and give em 10 days... this will be fun.

We currently have two second rounders owed to us. There was a time when DL accumulated a sizable plethora of second rounders. You know what we’ve parlayed all that into? Shelvin Mack. Shelvin ****ing Mack. And the pick we gave up for Mack was Denver's this year. Another Denver pick that could have been KBD.

Damn. So much hate for a guy who has done such a good job building our roster..... even after our “Star” left us high and dry.

Come on man. Being critical of a person or an action doesn't mean I can't also like or understand the good they do.

Don’t worry. We all love DL. I said he was a top 3 GM, if not higher, even back after passing on Niko. Stand by that. But he’s been awful in the second round. Bring back KOC for that. It’s the only place he excelled.

Has anyone heard and or figured out...

- What the trade proposal was that Gail Miller signed off on that would have cost the team money but ultimately didn't happen

- Which 2 "good teams" were trying to trade ahead of the Jazz to draft Grayson

???

My first impression when I heard DL say "two good teams" were trying to trade up was Boston and GSW. Boston loved Grayson pre-draft. Idk though

Yeah I immediately thought about Ainge when he said 2 good teams. It's like he can't help himself not to grab the guy that remind him of himself so much.

Boston would have some good assets. Which in that case, makes me think it was a little bit of, "Nah, how about **** you."

He does have a point. Draft picks in any sport just tend to be crap shoots no matter how much you invest in scouting. Some have better probability to pan out than others, but it's all still a gamble.
