I am not completely against Parker but it has to be at the right price. Please stop giving away 1st round picks like they are candy.

Jazz have traded 2 first-round picks (one that wasn't their own) for legit starting PGs that have helped us get to the second-round of the playoffs. I hardly consider that giving them away.
Hahahahahabahaha
All the cap space? If we renounce every one, how much cap space do we have?
Candy is delicious and I never give it away... you can take it from my cold dead hands... imma have candy for breakfast.
You mean for a one year rental in George Hill who didn't play but 60 games. When the trade is even or we are helping the other team we shouldn't be throwing in a first. If we were to trade Favors and Burks for Parker there is no reason to throw in a first. it is debatable if Parker is better than Favors throwing in Burks makes it more one-sided.

Exactly. It's going to take a 1st to dump his salary. But doing that trade puts Milwaukee into the luxury tax. I don't see them wanting to do that. And that's a good thing. I want no part of Parker.Burks has negative value in a trade
While yummy, too much rots your teeth.![]()

Thanks for the info. No way does Favors get as much as Jabari. Parker is only a possibility if Jazz trade Burks, renounce Favors and sign Jabari to an offer sheet. I don't see Lindsey doing that. If Milwaukee were to match, Jazz would be screwed. It has to be a straight double sign and trade... if AB is in the deal they would be over the apron and you can’t do a sign and trade and go over the apron. So it wouldn’t even be legal.

I dont get why everyone thinks Alec Burks has negative trade value. I was a fan of him, then soured on him, but I think at this point his stock could be rising at this point again. Ill explain why.
1. His contract is expiring. Its 1 year. Those are the contracts everyone wants for players not part of their core. They are hard to get.
2. He is putting his injuries be further behind him.
3. He showed in the playoffs he can do some things. I dont love his game, but its mostly because of some things that could potentially be fixed. His problem is he shoots it flat and doesnt great insticts on defense. Also decision making isnt always the greatest. He is still young enough and also starting to enter an age where people often take the next step in maturity (26). Its possible he could get better just by tweeking some things and playing smarter. He has useful skills around the basket, isnt afraid, and is athletic.
4. Its a contract year. He will be motivated.
I think he could be a target for teams actually. I think if he stays on the Jazz he could be a surprise for us and be a huge help. I think he should have played a lot more in that Houston series. He was great actually. He was saving our asses a lot .
So Im not in a huge hurry just to dump him. No way would I do it, just to do it, and get rid of him. No way would I include a pick either unless it helps us land Paul George or something.
If you had 11M in cap space would you sign him to an1 year deal?
I’m not in a hurry to dump him but getting off of his salary isn’t easy. I could see a Wilson chandler for AB deal swapping similar contracts and different needs.
Thats a good question.
And I say yes to it. If Im the general manager thats how I am managing it if I cant use my cap space on players I actually want, and who are actually worth long term contracts.
Ive been saying do this for a while. Its what all these teams should have done when the cap jumped instead of signing long term deals just because you had to sign someone. What the Lakers and Philly did with KCP and Reddick was a perfect way to handle their cap space.
Just give the mediocre player a bunch of money upfront in a 1 year deal. Then try for the star again next year. Its a win win for both sides.
