2011 draft.....

Vesely, in front of the Jazz scored 18 in the Serbian finals. Final boxscore is not up yet. Ford still mention Vesely as a possibility at 3. Little chance he is there at 12, but still a Kanter person despite Givony's best efforts.

I just want to remind everyone that there were several scouts that said Karl Malone was lazy and had a poor attitude so if DX Givony thinks Kanter is lazy because he watch him in high school, I would have to take it with a grain of salt. Kanter showed up in shape and ready to go. The tough part is determining if the kid loves basketball and wants to be great. For that reason many GM makes mistakes because they pick a guy who talks the talk but really can't get in done on the court or in practice.

There is a lot of incentive to show up in shape and ready to go. The third pick gets something like $11 million. The question is, who is he really? The high school video is a little bit scary. He looked like a big slow kid with poor defensive fudamentals and effort. He also didn't look very explosive. I know he's a great offensive talent, but if you're the jazz, don't you have to be a little bit worried about Kanter's defense?

If we draft Vessely at 3, I will give up my fan card. The dude cant shoot free throws, can't rebound, is weak. I do like that he improved his 3% and that he dunks everything. He just screams AK to me and I don't want another AK on this team

Not an advocate of drafting him at 3, but he is a SF not a PF so part of the reason his rebound numbers arent to high. True his 3pt numbers not to great and his FT% is crazily low, but certainly think he can improve on that. Also wouldnt it be kool to have the slam dunk champion on the Jazz. :)

1. Irving
2. Williams
3. Knight
4. Kanter
5. Vesely
6. Leonard
7. Walker
8. Valanciunas
9. Marcus Morris
10. Burks
11. Klay
12. Singleton
13. Tristan
14. Biyombo
15. Fredette

Surprised Hamilton isn't in top 15. I still think he is a better player than Klay Thompson as far as shooting/scoring goes, plus he can rebound.

Biyombo at 12 would a steal to me. Kanter and Biyombo would mean we have to make a trade.

No you don't. If Memo's back, they fight it out for the 4th and 5th spots. If Memo's out, they're the backups. Regardless, Memo is gone next year. But we're going to have a 5th big this year and I could care less if it's one of them.

Edit: Totally forgot Favors. I'd still draft Biyombo, though. Rather sit Memo if needs be and have those two guys fighting for time next year along with the insurance at the 4/5. We could just forget about the whole frontline for a while.

If we get both Kanter and Biyombo we definitely don't have to make a trade. They are both very young bigs who need time to develop. Neither of them are ready for extended minutes in the NBA imo.

Dont read Ford's tweets today then.

Having such a low FT% means his mechanics are seriously f***** up or he has the concentration of an 8 year old.

Informal GM poll: Who's the best int'l player in the draft? Vesley 5 votes; Kanter 4 votes; Valanciunas 3 votes. All said it's very close

I'm down.
