Fair enough. That’s why I asked if he drank. I thought he had admitted to drinking.
Thanks.

I’m sure Thriller ranted about Bill Clinton and the Left too when Juanita Broaddrick accused him of raping her in 1978, infinitely more evidence to prove it too, than in this current case.

Wes is not a right-winger...I looked this up to find out why you’d be posting this. Apparently Fox News had her on the other day. Did you watch it? Is that why you’re bringing her up? She claims that democrats are being hypocritical now. Hey that’s exactly what you accused me of being!!! Cool! Do you think you’re clever regurgitating Fox News talking points?
Apparently she claims that Clinton raped her in 1976 and accused him in 1999. So yeah, I guess I owe you an apology. I should’ve been up in arms. My hypocrisy has been revealed. I should’ve marched against Clinton and “the Dems” when I was in the 5th grade.
Being ignorant to sexual assault back in 1999 when I was in elementary school but being against it now in 2018 as an adult clearly shows the hypocrisy that has infected “the left.”
I bow to your intellectual prowness. You really kicked my ***.

So the FBI will investigate, the witnesses will say the same thing they did before because they wrote a sworn testimony in their letter to the Senate, and it will satisfy Flake (maybe) and Alaskan lady. It won’t change anything from the Democrats.
True. But two parties had the letter. Feinstein, and Ford. So either Feinstein leaked it, or Ford, who wanted it confidential, leaked it.
Thriller makes me ashamed I voted for Clinton.
Give it a ****ing rest. Take a walk, go for a jog, have a couple beers, do some ****ing thing.
Yes. Ford said she first went to the Post on the advice of friends. She decided she did not want to go the journalism route, and then went to her Representative, and then to her Senator. She wanted the information to inform the committee, but wanted to remain anonymous. It is not clear if the letter was included in what she gave the Post. In any case it was known by many people that she had made this allegation. It is not clear who leaked the letter. After it hit the news she decided to give it credibility by renouncing anonymity. She asked that the judiciary committee have the FBI conduct an investigation to avoid the contest of credibility were eventually got. Feinstein says it was not her or her staff that released Ford's letter.Ford talked to her Representative before she talked to Feinstein, IIRC.
There was a massive difference in how these two witnesses were treated. That partly explains the differences here (imagine being grilled on the contents of your yearbook, etc.). But it doesn't entirely explain the differences and I agree that he could have handled himself better. I do agree with him that his treatment has been atrocious, though. And boy, is this chart ever illustrative. It shows how many times Ford answered a question, or did not, and how many times Kavanaugh answered a question and how many times he did not. The difference is striking, to say the least:

Ford brought her allegations to Feinstein's attention and asked that she remain anonymous. That means that she was asking that something be done about them. Unfortunately for everyone (especially Ford) Feinstein used the letter in the most political way possible. She revealed the letter publicly at the eleventh hour... and someone (either Feinstein, her staff or Dr. Ford) soon leaked it. Disgusting.Well, maybe, or maybe not, the FBI investigation will shed more light on the allegations. And they started last night, investigating the second woman, I believe. They are assigning field agents to every allegation that is presently in the public arena, not just Ford's. Supposing, just for the sake of argument, that the FBI investigation develops information that truly makes it impossible to place Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court. Surely, at that point, it would be the case that later was better then not at all?
I'm sure the women who confronted Flake in the elevator represented the feelings of many victims of sexual abuse. I think that one powerful example of citizens confronting an elected official in a democracy made the FBI investigation inevitable, once Flake stated his case. And that was not a bad thing, since Flake consulted Democrat Coons, in a rare, rare, rare act of bipartisanship in our otherwise poisonous tribal politics.
Sure, the Democrats would love to delay right past the midterms, if they could win both houses, and delay until the results of the 2020 election is known. And maybe regain the choice the Republicans delayed until Obama was out of office. But, once the cat was out of the bag, a chance encounter at an elevator may have changed the course of our history. We'll see. At this point, better for all not to have this cloud over Kavanaugh if it can be lifted.
Although I'm on the record as believing his opening statement reveals a man unfit for the highest court in the land.

@Bulletproof one thing I want to leave clear is that I believe in changing attitudes. I don’t like the cynicism that pervades politics today. I believe and trust most people are good at heart...
