Suspicious packages sent to Obama, Clinton, and CNN Offices

But there's only one president. I agree the person or persons who mailed these packages, and this morning another was found at an address associated with Robert De Niro, bears the ultimate responsibility. However, all the targets were "enemies" of Trump. Under those circumstances, it's only to be expected that the events would cause people to point out the toxic rhetoric associated with Donald Trump. He is the president. Words matter, and in the United States, whose words would be expected to matter more then the president of the United States?

The events have shone a light on the toxic tone that has been set by, and is the responsibility of, our president. From urging violence on protestors at his rallies during his 2016 election. Punch them out, he will pay your legal fees. Waxing nostalgic over the old days, when such protestors would be carried out of his rallies on a stretcher.

When he became president, at no time did he reach out to those of his fellow Americans that did not vote for him. Instead, he helped to promulgate the fake news meme, where fake news was simply any reporting that did not hold him in the highest regard. He allowed that antipathy to expand until he was willing to say the media was "the enemy of the people". He labeled the opposition party "evil people".

Even at his rally last night in Wisconsin, he laid blame on how the media treated him, and once again raised the false news meme. An adversarial press is something every president endures, and it does not make that media the "enemy of the people". The man lies repeatedly. Daily he lies and lies. The press, in our nation, is allowed to speak truth to power! It is a part of their responsibility! How dare he label them "the enemy of the people"?!

The simple, and IMHO, undeniable fact is that he has set a toxic tone to our political dialog, and has refused to act as a president for all Americans. Seeing how all the targets, yesterday and today, are people and news organizations that he has virtually demonized at his rallies over the past two years, how can we fail to point out the degree to which he is responsible for his toxic tone, his toxic words, his overt effort to demonize any individual, as well as the opposition party?

I am not saying there is any kind of direct connection between Trump and the perpetrator(s), but his words matter more then the words of anybody else, as would be expected. He is the president. Let him assume responsibility for his words and the toxic tone he is setting.

Both sides. Both sides. Both sides. I have yet to hear the both-siders acknowledge these fundamental facts regarding our president.

Spin it however you want. We've already seen someone compare pushing a reporter out of your face to sending pipe bombs for hells sake.

Violent crime had been falling for nearly 30 years until Obama and t bf e democrats managed to reverse that trend. 20% increase in murders over two years. You know what Trump did? Made it a focal point and brought it to a new historic low.

So who's the violent one? The guy defending a guy defending his personal space, or the murderer in chief, the guy who built the US armed forces into a civilian slaughtering drone army?

Talk about spin. Downplaying bodyslaming a reporter, breaking his glasses has 0 correlation to other forms of violence.

Meatspin counter over 9000.

And how has Trump improved matters for the civilians of Yemen? Has Trump grounded all the drones? Has Trump stopped refueling Saudi bombers? Has Trump called for an end to a blockade of Yemen's port that is causing the worse civilian humanitarian crisis since WWII? I never backed Obama or Hillary's foreign policy. I'm a radical, I admit it, I oppose empire. Period. But you'll excuse me if I refuse to allow you to let Trump off the hook for the very change of subject you introduce. Who's the violent one my ***. Nice try.

Now to the point:

I would say he just doesn't get it. But, I believe he does get it. What's missing is giving a d***. He doesn't. At all. So, he will continue to demonize the press, continue to demonize opposition politicians, and his crowds will continue to chant "lock her up", even as someone tried to assassinate Hillary. Have we ever had such an irresponsible man in that office? He knows his rhetoric has been toxic. He knows this. I mean, tell me how he cannot know how toxic his rhetoric is? He does not care. And he never has.

The heart of the problem here is that we have a president who does not care about the country he allegedly leads. Zero moral leadership. Zero accountability. Zero concern for Americans. All of his concern is focused exclusively on his person.

"We should refrain from false equivalency. The president at numerous rallies has led cheers of “lock her up” — which the crowd repeated at his Wisconsin campaign stop just hours after a bomb was sent to Hillary Clinton and her husband. Trump once more did nothing to deter the crowd. Instead he blamed Democrats and the media. The Post reports:
“The media also has a responsibility to set a civil tone and to stop the endless hostility and constant negative — and oftentimes, false — attacks and stories,” Trump said.

In an apparent swipe at Democrats, Trump denounced those who “carelessly compare political opponents to historical villains” and who “mob people in public places or destroy public property.”

To be clear, women loudly protesting the confirmation of Kavanaugh are not a “mob,” and comparing Trump to thuggish autocrats is simple honesty. Trump seems not to understand that criticism of his policies and rhetoric is not the same as a president demonizing opponents, race-baiting and threatening democratic institutions. In his book, news accounts exposing his corruption, ineptitude and cruelty are on par with his insisting that neo-Nazi marches include some “fine people.” No, Trump’s level of vitriol and overt racism is unmatched by political opponents or past presidents.....

......The media’s false equivalence ignores reality — a president and one party have adopted thuggishness, threats, bigotry and admiration for violence as mainstays of their rhetoric. It’s not both sides that have taken to encouraging violence; it’s the Republican Party. It’s not both parties that treat the media as a threat to the United States; it’s only the Republicans. It’s not both sides of the aisle that call to lock up their opponents; only Trump does that.

Moreover, Trump has more power than any single person on the planet to end this downward spiral. He’s in charge, and the responsibility falls on him to restore sanity and civility. (I can barely type the words, recognizing how ridiculous it is to expect Trump to referee the food fight he started.)"

Obama built it, Trump inherited it.

At least Trump is trying to minimize civilian casualties. It took screams from the ignored right wing talk shows for the complicit, fake media to even acknowledge that Obama was willingly bombing women and babies. Obama didnt even show any care for the innocent after the media couldnt ignore the death toll any longer (or, more likely, had no other flames to fan with their faux outrage). How did Obama respond? He had his government create a fake report that downplayed and minimized death tolls to the lowest concievable number. Meanwhile, we have Jimmy Carter saying this wouldn't be conceivable previously. Not even Jummy Carter was willing to apologize for Obama.

That's what democrats built and Trump inherited. He's fixing it just like he fixed NAFTA, after Obama promised to do but lied about that too.

Do you know how Red's humanitarian crisis figures are compiled by airwar? Social media. You go on twitter, from outside your destroyed mud hut in remote Afghanistan desert, and tweet out I just died by drones hashtagTrump hashtagCivilianCasualty. That is literally how his humanitarian numbers are being created.

More on Yemen: everyone from World Food Programme Executive Director David Beasley to UN humanitarian coordinator Lise Grande are condemning the Houthi's for the famine. They were condemning the Saudi's during Obama but now applauding their humanitarian efforts during Trump. But guess who is blaming Trump for some bizarre reason: the US media and its Trump Derangement Syndrom followers.

'Violent crime had been falling for nearly 30 years until Obama and t bf e democrats managed to reverse that trend'

Nah.

The FBI data lies. Trump must have fudged the numbers somehow to make himself look good. Dont take your eyes from focusing on Trump, he is always the problem. Everything is all about Trump; he is our drug. I'm sure we can find something in those higher death tolls to blame on Trump. It was his campaign that made murder rates under Obama soar. Yeah, that's it, it was Trump's rhetoric.

Sorry buttercup, murder rate rose 20%. Source: FBI.

Oh you're trolling. Have fun.

You do realize all the crap done and said by liberals recently right? Let me guess, they are just saying to "protest peacefully"???

-Hillary: Dems "cannot be civil" towards Republicans
-Eric Holder: "When they go low, we kick them"
-Cory Booker: "get up in the face" of Congress
-Maxine Waters: Harass Trump officials
-Rand Paul attacked at home
-Republicans shot at
-Republicans forced out of restaurants
-Antifa blocking streets and assaulting people

The Nazi running over and killing a person. Shooting guns in a crowd during a peace protest. Republicans joking about cutting the CNN reporters throat. Or several times during trump rallies were people were (suckered) punched. Now I don't agree with confronting people in restaurants but how you can equate that to actually violence that has been committed against mostly liberals. The GOP members that were shot is the only case I can remember that lead to violence. I can only imagine if the bombs were sent to GOP you would be singing a different story. I could list all the threads toward Clinton and Obama but i have been things to do.

Of course he is. He doesn't actually believe anything he posts. Just tries to stir **** up
I had a friend like that in college. Loved to argue and take outlandish positions on every subject imaginable. After graduation and just before he was to head back to New York he finally admitted it was all just a game, a form of entertainment, and a boost to his ego to see if he could hold his own in an argument that was against the grain.

You are all falling for fake news. Zombie made that **** up. What I said only sounds outlandish to those who are so convinced that Trump is the cause of all evil that they cant think or see clearly.

"In 2016, an estimate of 1,248,185 violent crimes occurred nationwide, an increase of 4.1 % from the 2015 estimate." That was under Obama.

"When considering 5 and 10-year trends, the 2016 estimated violent crime total was 2.6% above 2012". When did Obama come into office?

That's straight from the FBI's 2016 UCR, but I dont expect Trump haters to find that credible enough.

Hey bud tell me what was the violent crime rate in 2007? Was it higher or lower than in 2016?

Actually I'll just tell you.

When considering 5- and 10-year trends, the 2016 estimated violent crime total was 2.6 percent above the 2012 level and 12.3 percent below the 2007 level.*

I know you saw that you disingenuous *******, because it's from the same source you just mentioned.

-Edited to reflect violent crime rates instead of murder

Oh and guess what #metoo, rape was up 4.8 % in Obama's final year and down 2.4% from that higher number in Trump's very first year. 2018 report isnt out yet, obviously, but it has undoubtedly gotten even better this year of Trump.
