Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

Brown was considered one of our main draft targets at 21 until about 10 days before the draft. People were saying that Washington taking him at #15 was a reach. You were the other guy that picked up on him, if I'm remembering.
He was rated highly before that. You can't get hype credit for picking a top 10 HS recruit

ESPN has been really high on Kabangele for a long time. I totally forgot that he's Mutumbo's nephew.

I know there's supposed to be one giant tier of players in a certain range, but I think this is the highest I have seen Tyler Herro.

I'm not really a fan of Keldon Johnson either. An "insider" on another forum said the Jazz love Grant Williams and want to draft him. Take that with a huge grain of salt though lol.

Who was the "insider"?

I'm anxious to see Jazzfanz favorite players and draft predictions this year. It feels like many folks have already written off the pick, figuring it will be traded I guess.

I’m not sure why people think that... what are we trading it for? Remember we have to match salaries in a deal. I don’t see us just deferring and trading for a pick in another draft... our salary matching players that we could trade on draft night don’t make a lot of sense to move with the pick... unless it’s for a higher pick.

Why do the Jazz have to match salaries? They have cap room. Can't they just agree to a trade in principle and do it in the off season?

I'm asking seriously - is there a bit of Draymond Green to Grant Williams? Both had very successful college careers and were loved by their teammates and coaching staffs. Both seemed like pretty well rounded players. If Williams is a Draymond type, wouldn't that fit us pretty well? I really want to know what y'all think:

Draymond Green Combine
6'7.5" with shoes
235 lbs
7'1" wingspan
8'10" standing reach
11.3% body fat

Grant Williams Combine
6'7.5" with shoes
240 lbs
6'10" wingspan
8'8.5" standing reach
5.4% body fat

Draymond had a reputation for being unathletic. He also had a reputation for being good at everything but great at nothing. He dropped to #35.

No, he's PJ Tucker

His highlights at the end of this video especially look pretty good. He actually reminds me a little of Draymond.

I’d be surprised if Bazley is around for us. I’d guess he goes around 16-18.
Well Boston has three picks so I wouldn't be surprised if they selected him with one of their picks. I am really starting to like what I've seen. I think he is a swing for the fence type of player. He could be really good in a few years. This is why I am against just dumping 1st for one year rentals.

Watching his tape this year, compared to last year, it looks like he's trying to imitate Kevin Durant with his side-to-side dribble, lean back and high release on his jumper. He's completely changed his shooting motion. Still needs some work though.

I can’t think of a team that did that with cap space. Love was traded but I believe they matched salaries. You could agree but then someone fails a physical or they send the wrong Brooks or a myriad of things could happen... and now you screw up the draft and maybe free agency. I think now that they’ve gotten this far they go into free agency then make a lopsided trade if they can’t find takers.
