The 2nd amendment doesn't say that anyone NEEDS an AR15 (or any gun for that matter)

He asked YOU why YOU need an AR15.
This should be a really easy question to answer for God's sake.
Just say I don't need one, I wanted one so I bought one.

Just like I don't need a camping trailer but I bought one cause I wanted one.

What happened to you, you used to be reasonable and now are just difficult about everything.

I think people are trying there hardest bit it will never happen. You know why? Because the 2nd Amendment has me protected from such tyranny.

Many people have things they want and do not need. Do you have an Xbox or switch or something? More than 1 car maybe? Hobbies and recreation come in many forms. I really enjoy shooting guns. I've participated in some shooting competitions, amateur of course. I like it. I'd rather do that than play Xbox.

I've stated this before and it isn't really part of my argument today since i'm only really attempting to establish that our country minus all our guns (especially the illegal ones) would be a safer country. However, since you've brought it up, just because people procure illegal fire arms now isn't a good defense for no gun control. If a ban could be accomplished and law abiding citizens turned in their guns like the good citizens that they are:

1.) Police and citizens alike know that anybody with a gun is now a criminal. Go get em. they're gonna get got.

2.) after the illegal gun owner crackdown, guns would be a lot harder to obtain illegally. The supply just isn't there. Ask your average prospective Japanese criminal how and if they could get a gun.

You're right, there is a subset of the population that is prone to violence. Wouldn't it be best if their access to lethal means was lessened?

Also, You're ignoring the rest of the world again. The United States doesn't exist in a vacuum. You should go live abroad for an extended period and see

1.) If you have what it takes to adapt to a new culture.

2.) Get out of your ethnocentric mindset and see that there are other ways of living that may or may not be better than the way we insist on living in this country.

This isn't that hard.

Trump said he would build a wall and Mexico would pay for it. I wasn't worried about that happening as I knew there was no way in hell what he was saying was the truth.

Politicians say all kinds of things. Some of them are just bogeymen that you don't need to worry about. Your guns being taken away fall into the bogeyman category. You even said so yourself when you said guns being taken away won't happen.

You know I find it pretty callous what you're implying here. I mean, if it meant that people would stop dying if you personally gave up your weapon, would you do it? Like, theoretically?

Another myth the gun blaming type continue repeating is that US is the only place in the world with mass killings. False. US mass killing rate is comparable to other western nations, including Canada where they've used Van's and crossbows in addition to guns and stuff.

That alone justifies those warning you that if you take away guns people will find other means. Start focusing on the problem and not your preconceived agenda if you seek a solution.

Yeah, but the difference is the AR can only be used to shoot. While they may not account for many deaths, I just don't get why people want to own them simply because they can.

People are unpredictable, emotional, and have knee-jerk reactions. The less people with guns, the better.

Find other means please. Better that those who are bent on killing find it harder to accomplish.

You choose

1.) some crazy walks in to your starbucks with a gun, any gun, and starts shooting.

2.) some crazy walks in to your starbucks with a crossbow and starts shooting. If he can even find a crossbow or a workable katana, or wants to like buy a goddamn van.

Either way, 99 times out of 100. your chances of survival are clearly higher in #2.

As I already posted I'm all for extreme one strike you're out gun laws. You do a crime with a gun, you are done.

That's not the end all but how about we focus on the actual criminals for once instead of law abiding citizens? Crazy concept...

I don't know, I could club you with the AR pretty good. Maybe go golfing with it. Throw it at someone. Use it as a cane. Probably some other things.
