What's new

Game Thread Oct 04, 2022 08:00PM MT: Jazz at Trail Blazers (Preseason)

Added to Calendar: 10-04-22

I genuinely feel that had we kept Bogey, we are a better team than the Blazers. That is sad. . .

After Game 1 we were headed for the worst record and after Game 2 we are headed for the playoffs. Life comes at you fast.
I think the Blazers can beat us if Dame and Jerami Grant go off like they should.

I mean Nurkic fouls out in like 22 minutes, they go small, and we demolish them from there. We picked a fine time to solve our "small ball" issues.

Wouldn't be surprised if Blazers are blowing that team up by the deadline. Their starters are obviously better but Jazz has a deeper team.

Anfernee Simons is way overpaid too. They just gave him a $100 mil extension and I believe Sexton is the better player on a much cheaper contract.

It was nice to see Bolmaro knock down a couple of 3's. His shot was looking much better in the video from practice some of the beat writers posted on twitter a few days ago. I really want him to make the team, but I have a bad feeling he's going to be one of the guys that gets cut.

I very much hope "Gay is taking the night off" is code for his agent is looking for a contending team to give him a vet min deal so the Jazz can buy him out.

Same. I'm thinking it might be Lee, Dok, and *hopefully* Gay that get the ax. Not sure what they will do with Zeller and Butler though. Maybe Danny makes one more deal before the start of the season.

He’s got that dawg in him…

I like having him around cuz he’s an awesome guy to look at for the young guys. He had to get over his BS as a young guy and now has figured out how to stick. He just seems so mature. Sucks we couldn’t get him last year though.
Yeah but, I mean, it’s not like guys like him are just hanging out there waiting for a 10-day. People act like it’s so ****ing easy. Besides, we probably didn’t have a roster spot. We were over the tax so Ryan would have had to sell to a Seattle or Las Vegas investment group if we added any more salary. I don’t know, I’m sure there’s a good reason. I don’t know what that is, but there was definitely a good reason. These guys know what they’re doing and they didn’t miss out because they were complacent. You can bet they knew more about the situation than we did.

We don’t know the ins and outs of the teams situation. We don’t know what the payroll looks like. We hired one of the interns to do the cap math for us to save money.

After the way Stanley Johnson played tonight, I think he has to be put on the roster. He was very effective defensively out on the floor. There might be other teams interested in him.

The reason Dok may be on the bubble to get cut is because the Jazz just don't play pick-and-roll that much, and that's really what he's designed to do. Maybe the Jazz keep him and run some plays for him. The other thing is that he's not a guy who contests much on the perimeter, and that's not going to help his case.
