2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Jazz were 6-14 over their final 20 games this year (.300). Now imagine that we're starting the season without Clarkson and potentially without THT.
During that stretch the Jazz played without Sexton, and JC and even Lauri missed a couple of games. Plus the Jazz were competitive in almost every game. The West is tough but I would not be shocked if the Jazz made the playoffs especially if they hit on 2 of the 3 picks or even one.

Bilal leads the draft class in stocks percentage. His rim finishing is third best. I think he is the best athlete pound for pound. But he is reluctant to shoot though he has shown some flashes of touch and handle. He did play against men in their late twenties and thirties and he was elevated by the league as the best new player.

I think most likely you are getting a juiced up version of Royce O'Neal. There is a small yet decent chance he busts. But who knows with that kind a mix of youth, measurables, tools, his trajectory could keep going and he could become a Star.

Whatever the case there's a lot smoke being generated around him. Maybe it's a smoke screen, maybe it is legit.

I'm not opposed to taking Bilal if he's BPA. Dude's aggressive on his D, can knock down a jumper, and seems like an amazing athlete. There are just other players I want more and it'll take a bit of time for him to cook. The latter part isn't really an issue for me either honestly, just a note.

Question?…. Is this draft good enough to spend future first round picks on? I fear DA doing just that. I haven’t paid much attention besides March madness. So not sure if it’s worth it.
that is a good question. in my opinion it absolutely is worth it. everything ive read said 2024 and 2025 draft are incredibly weak. this draft is very very deep with really good players. a lot of team fortunes will be set in this years draft this draft is great and deep and one of the best in the last 10 years and much better than the next 2. so yes trade future picks for this draft.

I think for the right player, possibly. That Jazz have a metric tuckfon of picks and it may not be a bad idea to consolidate one or two if the player we want is reachable and worth the price.

Bufkin is the same size as Ochai.....
For real? That is surprising.
Googled and found both are 6 foot 5 but Ochai is 215 lbs and Kobe is 195. I guess that is why I was so surprised. They aren't the same size. Ochai is built as ****. Kobe is skinny. Of course Ochai is a decent amount older so Kobe could eventually be the same size as Ochai but currently isn't.

How so? JHS has an elite mid-range game. Black has an elite rim game and will be able to put pressure on opposing bigs making easy baskets for Kessler on dump-offs. I think both will be serviceable from 3. Both have way better size than both Wallace and Bufkin.
You said in your post. I THINK both WILL BE "serviceable" from 3. There is the problem.

Denver just won the championship with two starters shooting sub 35.7% from 3.
They also have the best player in the nba on their team and a 5 who can shoot (I think Kessler and Jokic are quite different from each other at the 5 spot)

TH throws that Kawhi comp a little too loosely. Last year during the Gobert trade talks he said Hunter could become our Kawhi if he hit his full potential.
Who is Hunter?
