Maybe we can get Kanter as well.

This Murray situation is interesting to me for a few reasons. One is that I don’t think he has ever really liked to play for the Hawks, where he didn’t have a lead PG role and couldn’t play to his strengths. Another one is that his contract is now cheaper because of it, and it will cover his peak years as a player. Everyone seems to be saying that Trae-Murray just didn't work out and that it is the reason for the Hawks to shop Murray, but he may have also told them that he prefers to move on.I don't think thats an unreasonable price depending on the contracts or pick protections. I think the Nets are a team that should be looking hard at something there. If its Jordan/Ochai/1st that's been my price for us that makes sense. Sounds like they want more but what they want and what they get are likely two different things. Glad we have Hardy and Collins to provide insight if we want.
these are the decisions that are the hardest to weigh. Everyone is rolling and you hate to disrupt but you do need to swap out good for great where you can.
In some sort of two step you could acquire the Wizards first that NY owns... its protections mean it likely turns into seconds... but it does hang over the Wizards head a little. If you moved JC to NY for the pick then figured out a trade with some stuff and that pick to the Wiz for Avdija it could have more "value" to them than another team. The GM also may not care and might use the pick they owe as rationalization to continue asset collection a year or two longer than they would otherwise.
Jazz need a wing who can facilitate, defend and make some shots. We're leaning heavily on Olynyk to do that stuff, but we're probably going to lose him at some point.
I just put a deal together with JC to NY, Fournier to Wash, Wright and Avdija to Utah. Wash also picks up their own pick from NY and we send the Minny pick.I get the intrigue in Avdija, but he’s like the hardest type of player to trade for in the league. Good young players are hard to get from teams that are tanking. They definitely value picks, but teams always value their own young players the most. I think there’s been a regime change though….so maybe that’s a glimmer of hope….but 23 year old on a brand new 4 year contract doesn’t get traded often.
Having said that, after watching too many Wizards games, it would not surprise me if he asked for a trade. He looks miserable there.

He's pretty awesome and looking at his numbers he's super unique. On a smart organized talented team he might shine even brighter. 2 firsts and more salary flexibility is a solid haul for them with where they are. They will be collecting assets for 2-3 years at least. They have no urgency to do a deal unless he is miserable but they also aren't going to benefit in a huge way from how good he is. Maybe they move Kuzma instead and give Deni a bigger role to make him happier. IDK but I think they are in asset collection mode and we have assets for a player that might be the swiss army knife we need?
I would put the 2025 Minny pick on the table. That isn't that far off at all. IF they twist my arm I can part with Ochai.Oh I definitely think we could use Deni. I just think that if I’m WAS, I’m definitely wanting to hold onto him. It would be an extremely hard pill to swallow to trade one of their only bright spots for very distant picks. Deni isn’t just good now, but he has a good amount of potential to get better for the reasons you listed.
I can only see him getting traded if he’s super frustrated….which might be true body language wise. He’s definitely not a fan of the Poole party.

They should hang on to him but I could see them viewing it as selling high or selling while he has momentum. They are stuck with Poole and if there is an issue there I could see them swapping for a more liquid asset. If Deni's shooting dips back down he would lose a little luster as well. IDK I just make sure to have a good convo there if there is a convo to have.
They are also so early in their rebuild that I think these types of deals would still be tolerable. They also don't really have any extra firsts (the GS one they got was a fake first). So getting a pick back and one for the coffers is the type of stuff they are supposed to be doing.
I would take calls on everybody if I am Was.... but would have a higher price than what I outlined. I do think talking heads would be like "two firsts for Deni Avdija?!?!?!" but I don't think real GMs would see that as wild.I get where you're coming from, WAS is a mess, but I'm still telling other teams to kick rocks if I'm WAS and teams are calling about Deni. A 2025 pick from one of the best teams in the league and a 1st that turns into seconds is not doing it for me. Deni could be worse like anyone could be worse, but the team that believes in him the most is probably WAS themselves and I'm sure they're more inclined to believe he will keep getting better.
Jazz Twitter would meltdown if we did that lol.I would take calls on everybody if I am Was.... but would have a higher price than what I outlined. I do think talking heads would be like "two firsts for Deni Avdija?!?!?!" but I don't think real GMs would see that as wild.
OKC is a team that I could see really liking Deni and offering more and there is obviously a relationship there.
for sure...Jazz Twitter would meltdown if we did that lol.
Key is our Dunn replacement. We need to be in the market for a solid 2nd string PG. I think that is doable. I still want to keep Dunn too though.Murray would be more of a Dunn replacement in my eyes.
