Can the beanclown starting a game thread experiment please end? This one is Total Fail.
Like any red-blooded male, I come here for the pics, not the articles.

Yes, it's pretty amusing Evans is a "Key Contributor." I'm pretty sure without his 10 points this season, the Jazz would be 4-7, maybe even 3-8 instead of 7-4.

Win or lose, I think the most important thing is to see the Jazz play like a team, a team that does communicate well and plays hard, and to see them not gaining bad habits from previous games.

Nuggets have the fastest game pace in the NBA right now. Mozgov have exceeded the expectations. The key to W is transition defense IMO. They just run the opponents out of the building, especially ones that are on the 2nd leg of a B2B. Can the Jazz keep up with them at a high pace? I dunno.

Notes:

Denver spanked us in the last meeting

Denver is coming off a nice win over Miami

Jazz on the end of a back to back

Let's go Jazz!
Ya know I'd like to rip into Beanieweeny the way I did MK11 I just don't have the energy to do it. How do you fight pure stupidity. Good hell we just went through this last weak, making game threads out of turn!

Our only chance at winning this is to try and injure Lawson, Nene, and Fettuccini in the first 2 minutes of the game. Jazz by 8

Hate the Nuggets Lawson and Nene own us. I will be watching Al closely to see if he settles for garbage shots, because Nene plays him very tough.

damn, cry harder everybody. Sheesh, I expected worse from Beantown. Good? No. Utter garbage? see chitownfail

(Points produced per 100 possessions - Points allowed per 100 possessions) weighted for minutes.

Evans offensive efficiency numbers are so high (over 150 points per 100 possessions) that it completely outweighs the reduction he gets from minutes. Without the minute reduction, he is a +50.

He started at +5 this season and has been steadily dropping as he logs DNPs and low minutes. The fact that he is a contributor at +1 speaks about how poor the rest of the team is. Good teams, see the Nuggets, have several players at +4 or +3.

Paul +5.4
Al +1.8
Evans +1.4
Kanter +0.4
Howard +0.2
Bell-0.2 (Was a lot worse before last night)
Favors -0.4
Hayward -0.8
Burks -0.9
Tinsley -1.0
Miles -2.2
Harris -2.3
Watson -2.8

@Wes: Why don't you tell me what you don't agree with rather than just calling it garbage, yes?

Ok people I'll never make another game thread again. Sorry for trying to feel included.

Game threads>my feelings

Just to be clear, is this points scored at position v. points scored by opposing player at the same position? If not, how are these numbers calculated? What is the source of the data?

Basketball-reference lists the raw numbers. The formula was created by Dean Oliver, who wrote Basketball on Paper.

the formula is: Offensive Rating = (Points Produced / Individual Possessions) x 100
Points can be produced through field goals, free throws, assists, and offensive rebounds. Individual possessions are the sum of a player's scoring possessions (field goals, free throws, plus partial credit for assists), missed field goals and free throws that the defense rebounds, and turnovers.

Defensive Rating = (Opponent's Points Allowed/ Opponent's Possessions) x 100

It is not position vs position as you stated. If your team mates are poor defenders, you will look worse too, as it should be. Its impossible to bring defense down to a single player.

(ORAT-DRAT)*minutes played weight.

Why not start Millsap at the 3 tonight?
Everyone knows we're going to need Favors and Kanter on the floor a lot tonight, in order to contain Nene and Lawson.

He has changed it from when he first put it up. Yes, what you see is the "new improved version."

Anyway, he should have left it the way it was, for all the complainers who threw a fit over MK11s thread.
