Following Potential 2025 Draftees

The dream for his offensive game would be SGA
SGA is one of the craftiest players I've ever seen, and Harper hasnt thus far even struck out as being exceptionallly crafty.

His rim finishing is excellent though. Whether he can get there by creating his own advantages is what I would question.

Yeah, but SGA didnt look like a future 30 PPG scorer as a Freshman or even as a rookie, so I guess that would be the dream outcome as they have similar strengths/weaknesses.

Just some random thoughts on the top guys and how they would fit in with the current Jazz team:

I don't disagree with anything you said in your post, but I'd point out that the Jazz don't have a player who is good enough to build around at this stage. Hence, whether Ace Bailey fits with the current team is probably irrelevant. You'd draft him if you think he's the BPA. Bailey looks like a prospect who could be an All Star and maybe become a top 10 player in the NBA at some point (e.g., Tatum, PG13, etc.).

The Jazz would still need a high-level initiator and on-ball advantage creator, but you'd happily draft Bailey to be one of your All Stars and deal with that other challenge some other way.

without projecting anything beyond of what he already can do?

Everything is projections for all of these guys after several games against mostly awful competition in college.

I saw Harper be the best player on the floor in the McDonald's game, he has that kind of potential, we just need more data right now.

But was he already exceptionally crafty in college? In any case, giving that kinda of benefit of doubt to Harper is clearly big time projection.

Agreed, you don't pass up on Bailey if he is rated better than someone else.

At the same time if players are rated similarly we kept on to Lauri for a reason. I also think we want to get out of the rebuild sooner than later, so picking someone who fits in with who we already have helps. With that said, fit really isn't a concern since the only guy we really have is Lauri, and he fits in with everyone. My exercise was more just imagination and trying to picture these guys on our team.

Of course, but there are levels to projecting. I'm not adding anything to them in my analysis. I'm not saying they take this or that leap.

I just look at the product right now, and imagine what the current version of them would look like against NBA defenders.

Not to a crazy degree. After all he was only the 11th overall pick.
But guys like SGA who take exceptional leaps at the pro level cannot be detected pre draft. Thats why SGA was picked only 11th.

Harper is a good player but projecting him to become Cade is more realistic than projecting him turning into SGA.

Yeah, thats' why I said the dream.

I think Harper has a combination of things. He has some craftiness, he has some explosiveness, and is a huge competitor. I think that all translates.

I have a slight question on Harper’s height. Listed at 6’ 6” but it seems generous. Prolly not as generous as VJ being listed at 6’5”.

Top 30 guys should be measured by the nba pre-college season. No more height disinformation.

My eye sight put Harper at 6'4" and edgecomb at 6'3"
He might be very similar to Harden's size. Its not super critical I guess I just think he is average or slightly above average for a sg and big for a pg. He seems strong.
