Yeah but Tre has elite 2-guard size and he's an actual elite shooter.I don’t know if I can take another ****ing chucking guard. Lord save me.
Can we at least get rid of Keyonte please?
No matter who we pick, our defense will suck.Man, I can't imagine how bad we're going to be defensively next year if we add Tre Johnson to our arsenal of guards.
Keyonte, Tre, and Sexton...
To be clear, we should pick Tre, but this is gonna be rough if we do, lol.
Hopefully we trade Sexton anyway though.
Tre has the potential on that end of he is coached up and puts the effort in.No matter who we pick, our defense will suck.

I disagree. Just trade all the vets and let the young guys struggle through the extended playing time. Push the window to 2027, open up cap space and look to make opportunistic trades over the next two years to fill those roles. As much as I like Lauri, Sexton and Collins, they have more value as trade chips now instead of long-term fits.I would be more inclined to trade Key. Tre is just an upgraded version of Key and I don't know what role Key plays if Tre is on the team. Sexton is just the better player and the whole team can't be filled with rookie contract players. Want to keep at least some half way decent veterans on the team just for the culture and work ethic.

I think you have to weigh that against losing value even more than they already have. Collins and Sexton (and Clarkson) are all expiring. You can’t get value for them if they leave as free agents. I’d much prefer to trade them this offseason than have that happen. As for Lauri, I think you have to trade him if you plan to tank. Not looking to get rid of him just to move on, they have to get real value if they do trade him and I think they can.I don't know if the Jazz are a functional team if they trade all 3 of those guys. And I don't trust Key to grow in any significant way. The Jazz would be an all time dysfunctional team without those 3 and we have already witnessed the pitfalls of the lottery. For the development of our younger players, we need to have some semblance of a normal team structure. Having a bunch of rookie contract guys struggle as starters will not benefit their development.

I wish Fears didn’t measure where he did, but I still think he’s being slept on.
In that same vein, I’m baffled why Fleming isn’t being mocked higher.
I think a Fears/Fleming draft is realistic for us and sneaky good.
But I also believe we need to start making calls on some of our rookie contract guys. We currently have 4 picks in this draft and more coming in the next few years. Out of Key, Brice, Hendricks, Cody, Collier, Flip (not to mention a guy like juzang) who are we going to give more development minutes to and who are we cutting loose? The rotation is already stuffed with young guys. How many more can we realistically add to the rotation? The time is fast approaching where we have to make some judgement calls on these guys.
If Fears' shooting comes together, he can be a lead initiator and primary player whose positional value is probably higher than Tre Johnson's just due to the amount of time he's going to have the ball in his hands.
Fleming starts to become very interesting when you compare him physically to guys like Derrick Favors and Jalen Duren, then realize he's a 39% 3pt shooter.
