Kendall Marshall - Our next PG Hope

Damn .. and I thought we loved each other (according to others) ..

One thing? How the hell does he have 15 assists one night, 15 rebounds another night, and 30+ points another? Wow .. nut up fanz .. Rondo is a complete player. Shooter? NO. Scorer, rebounder, defense, disruptive, winner .. yes. Watch, learn, become a believer, repeat.

My bad ... boy you do have a good memory~

I don't think bringing in a rookie point guard is the answer, unless it's a Kyrie Irving type talent that you're not going to have to wait a few years to develop. The Jazz need to set caution to the wind and try to land a big name guard, the answer of which could only be Rondo. Curry is a step up from Harris, but Rondo is like 5 steps up. Some days he makes you wonder if he's the best pure point in the game.

There's no question the Jazz have the assets to bring in Rajon Rondo. The real question is how would Rondo react to such a situation. While some question his attitude, I for one think he wouldn't mind playing in a smaller market. Rajon Rondo seems like the anti-star of the NBA. He often regards hype and media with a certain aloofness that suggests he either doesn't realize just how good of a player he is, or he knows he's good and doesn't really care about the media attention. On top of that, while other NBA stars are texting each other at will, lobbying each other behind the scenes, Rondo seems like an NBA outcast. Dwight Howard and Chris Paul want to play together, Howard and Williams want to play together, Kobe and Paul, Howard and Rose, the list goes on and on, but who wants to play with Rondo? The guy has had well documented run-ins with his current big three, so why should we think that he's pining away to join some other big three?

Long story short, Rondo may be one of those rare players who really doesn't care where he plays, just so long as he has a chance to compete and explore his game.

Only if we're willing to part with either Favors or Kanter, a pick and a proven starter IMO. I don't think Boston would be wanting Hayward or Burks, or Jefferson.

So here's the question, would you give up either Favors or Kanter, plus may be Millsap and a pick for Rondo?

Tough call... I might take a chance on Lillard instead.

I'm with ya on Rondo. He's one of my favorit players. I also love how he isn't best buds with all the other great players, he just wants to eat them for dinner and not have dinner with them on game night;)

I understand he has a great IQ, but the thing that scares me the most is he can only do one thing...and that's pass. His shot is terrible, defense is bad, isn't fast, isn't athletic. I know I sound like a broken record, but I just don't see him succeeding.

First off the one thing he does well is passing which is one of the more important parts to the game in the NBA, and he doesn't just do that one thing well, it's an elite skill for Marshall. Also important is court sense leadership, and has a high b-ball IQ those are also elite skills in Marshall's arsenal. In the sportscenter era I think people place too much importance on certain skills that get players on sportscenter.

Look at guys like Mark Jackson or to a lesser extent Andre Miller. Neither can shoot, and neither is very explosive, but are smart heady players. All I care is that we have someone to run the offense from the pg spot.

From the bit we've heard from some Celtics fans, we would NOT have to give up Favors or Kanter to acquire Rondo.

He's saying he'd want young players.. and I dont think Hayward or Burks would suffice.. I think Ainge would definitely want a young big to replace Garnett when he's gone..

I'm not too concerned about losing Millsap, but losing Kanter/Favors I'd definitely have to think about that one..

Can you name any players like Mark Jackson or Andre Miller that are starting in the NBA right now? Hell, Andre Miller was a terrible shooter/scorer and he's still quite a bit better than Marshall at that.

That would be an easy hang up for KOC...possibly worth putting Ainge on his block list.

Great we know what fans think. What does Ainge think.

Dunno. But at this point, our best way to gauge what Ainge thinks is to look at what Celtics fans think, and they seem to value him a little less than you might think (at least that's the impression I'm getting).

GS pick anyone?

I think we'd be competing with the Lakers offering them Gasol.. so yeah I do think Ainge would be asking for that much - at least as a start.

Rondo is Boston's best trading chip, I don't blame them for trying to get the best out of it.

Definitely. Which is why I think it takes (their choice);

Burks/Hayward

To be perfectly honest, I don't see why the Celtics would be interested in Pau. He's in his thirties and isn't playing at the level he was when the Lakers were winning titles. He definitely is too old for a team looking to rebuild, and he definitely could not help a team chasing titles as much as Rondo. Whether they're rebuilding (most likely) or looking to compete now, Rondo for Pau doesn't make sense to me.

What I've been saying from the beginning.

They get a big to replace KG, who is still young enough to fit into a rebuild project. They get a talented, young wing. And they get a top 10 pick in a loaded draft. There's no way they could expect more than that.
