What's new

Deron is coming back to Utah.

I think Deron would give the Jazz just what they need to contend for a championship within the next few years, but no way should he take ten million. There are a lot of teams that would pay him the max AND give him a good chance to win.

Dwill is just waiting to see if the Nets pick gets lucky and becomes #1 overall for Anthony Davis.

So, how many exes have you grovelled before? It's okay, you can tell us. You're among friends here.

I have never had a girlfriend before. Im still a virgin. ;)

Really though, whats wrong with being a fan of his game and having fond memories of his time here? I dont think he is coming back, but I wish he would.

In reality, this is basketball. Not the dating game.

Deron had to be traded because his presence on the team was becoming poisonous. The fans were more than correct to boo him, considering where the team would be right now had he not been traded.

The idea that he's just yearning to come back but won't because a few people booed him is quite along the lines of pining for ex girlfriends and whatnot.

I think the bridge would be repaired when he signs that contract and the lame Jazz fans realize he is going to make Kanter and Favors great.

I'm not concerned about the bridge between Deron and fans. I'm talking about the one between Deron and Gail Miller. The only way that bridge is repaired if he gets down on his knees and apologizes for running Sloan out of town.

It's not gonna happen.

I repeat. No way in h*** Gail Miller allows Deron Williams to come back to the Jazz.

I might be wrong, but I doubt it. (I don't know Gail, maybe she is a forgiving person. People say she's great, but I've heard she's through very sketchy and unverifiable sources that she resents Deron. For some reason, I believe these rumors.)

Besides, Deron hasn't been the same since he covered up his "No Guts No Glory" tatoos. He's doesn't play with the same heart he used to.

I agree with the trade and would rather have what we have now instead of him, but we wouldnt be that bad off.

We would still be in the playoffs, probably with a better seed and facing a watered down league with a better chance of contending this year than the team we have. With a good chance of him coming back.

This would be our most likely line up

Deron
Hayward
Josh Howard
Millsap
Jefferson

That wouldnt be a bad team. Especially since Hayward has turned into what he has.

All of this is based on assumption that Deron keeps his mouth shut and suddenly becomes a model citizen.

The problem with these LeBron, Melo, Howard, Williams situations is that the moment a star starts pouting, all long-term planning goes out the window. It becomes all about making moves right now to keep him happy. You can't ask him to wait 2 years so you can clear cap space, because he's a "fierce competitor" or "extremely driven" or whatever other euphemism for "unearned sense of entitlement" you want. Then you get Cleveland signing Jamison and Shaq's corpse, Magic and Arenas, Hedo being reacquired, Iverson to Nuggets, then Billups to Nuggets, etc.

Had Deron stayed, the Jazz FO would have been much more likely to pull some boneheaded move to get him "help now."

hoopshype is reporting that DW is leaning towards signing with the Nets.

I would be too if I were DWill.

Utah - burnt too many bridges here to come back. He'd almost have to come here & play for $10mill (Way less than his market value) just to make amends. It will really show how sorry he is (a bit like Ben Wallace finishing his career in Detroit).

Dallas - does he really want to play 2nd fiddle to Nowitzki & Terry? Any Championship he wins there wouldn't be his own.

Lakers - it'll only be possible if Lakers are willing to give up Bynum/Gasol. But are they willing to do that?

Brooklyn Nets - Have you guys seen the new arena? It's MASSIVE. Have you seen their new logo/look? JAY Z is there. It looks to me like a very hip, up and coming team with a potentially HUGE fan base. He'd definitely be the face of the franchise there. OK he may not win straight away there, but if he commits there long term, there's potential for many top free agents to be interested in going there. At least Dwight must be tempted surely.

I guess I just dont understand the seething hate for Deron. I think it has been over blown by some people just how bad of a guy he is. I think he got a little frustrated with the direction of the team when the Jazz were shedding salaries and players. It appeared to him that we were taking steps backwards. I dont think he is a bad guy.

Yes only a little bit. He nearly bit Hayward's head off for running the wrong way in 1 meaningless play.

He's a player, not an owner or GM. You get paid to play, not worry about what personnel moves are happening.

I hate this idea that has suddenly developed in the NBA that if you're a superstar player, you somehow need to have a say in matters way outside your responsibility.

Guys a prick. Always has been and always will be. No thanks. Enjoy losing ****er!

This is and always has been speculation on the part of fans. I prefer to deal with facts. You really believe that Jerry Sloan would let any player "run him out?" Really?

Fact is, Deron will have plenty of options and there is not enough reason for him to come back.

Incidentally, if Coach Sloan, Hall of Famer, did let Deron run him out, then he was washed up, anyway.

Signing with the Nets is a completely stupid thing to do. Next year, they will be the same exact team. What will change from this year to next? A mid lottery pick? I don't get that move at all.
