What's new

What's your offseason To Do List?

There is a starting PF job for Millsap on this team next year, at least. There is a spot for him somewhere for the duration of his next contract. I don't think we'll get equal value for him in a trade.

It's Jefferson. There has to be some market for him. We should have moved him there more than 30 games ago.

Really? According to ESPN he is a top 5 contract in the NBA. Generally you take less value to get rid of a bad contract, and receive more for a good contract.

I think he does more for this team that we realize. Plus, he's a closer.... it's hard to let those go.

Trading Jefferson and Harris? They were the two bright spots on on our team during the playoffs. Let's first figure out Corbin's system in the offseason, and see who fits into it. Then let's find out who we want to trade.

I like him, I guess this series has just left a bitter taste in my mouth. I would love to have him as a 6th man PF who can play spot SF minutes. He isn't a full time SF though and I don't think he is a starting PF on a contending team (that doesn't have a MVP-type wing player).

I think this is an interesting point, and one that I will get blasted for. If we are somehow able to transform the roster and add 3pt shooters, retaining Al may be a good move. I think we would need to get rid of Harris in this case though and add a better shooting PG.

Still, I'd rather just get rid of Jefferson and bring in some pieces to build around Kanter/Favors.

I don't think Harris is right for the system, but I'm still not sure. I think if Corbin gets a full off-season to work with him maybe they can figure something out. I still think Jefferson has a lot of upside. When he backs into the basket and draws that double team, if we had a great three point shooter he could kick it out to it would be money every time. It's too bad we don't have Okur anymore. That's where we would want him.

Got an email from the Jazz saying thank you and offering me two SLC Bees tickets for 2 bucks. Got to admit it made me kind of smile, nice touch. I bet you didnt get one you neg repping *****.

Who you talking to bro?

Also, back to the thread ... RONDO!

If we can find a way to lose Burks, get Harden, and get another really good three point shooter, then hell yes. Go after Rondo.

Otherwise...

I'm starting to think that Harden is the solution... good 3 point shooter, can iso or play pick-n-roll with favors, and draws a ton of fouls when we struggle to score.

now only if OKC doesn't know that he can do all that.

Doesn't matter. They won't be able to keep Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, and Harden. Numbers won't work and I bet it's Harden that goes.

I just don't think we can get Rondo without breaking the bank. It'd be cool, but you are losing at least one of the youth and a few picks and probably Millsap.

Again, I'd love to see Harden, Rush and Nash on this team to go along with Favors, Kanter, Millsap, Hayward, Burks, Carroll, Evans and Tinsley. Draft Marshall. Use Bell, Big Al, Harris, Watson and and other assets we have such as the GSTankers pick to land those pieces.

That gives us:
PG - Nash, Marshall, Tinsley
Wings - Harden, Hayward, Burks, Rush and Carroll
PF/C - Favors, Kanter, Millsap, Evans

What do you think PKM (and overs willing to comment and not PMS).

If OKC knows they won't be able to keep Harden, then they'll execute some kind of extension-sign-and-trade with another team. I want the guy, but it's difficult to get too excited.

Nash would be great for a few seasons. We could make a dent next year with Nash and 2-3 shooters.
