What's new

Korver?

People's gripe was that he wasn't chucking enough, trying to preserve that record.

This, we were fighting for a 3 seed and in the last 2 games attempted 1 three even though he was averaging 4 attempts per game. He later made a statement that confirmed that is what he was doing. We lost the last game and got a 5 seed instead.

Why dont we as orginization grows some balls and tweek this thing so that it resembles a balanced team. I know, what novel idea. Instead we are trying to jam players into posistions they dont play and we are over loaded in some area and weak in others. But ya KOC, lets leave it just the way it is.

What does this rambling have to do with the topic at hand?

I'd rather have Rush but I'd love Korver too. Burks can still be the 6th man and Korver/Rush come off the bench for instant offense. I'd also like Steve Novak, perfect back up 3 for us

If the plan moving forward is to try and make it work with Sap, Jefferson and Favors all in the fold, a 3 point shooter like Korver or Rush is an absolute must. Teams will be forced to pack it in defensively and until we have a legit 3 point threat to make them pay for it, they will be successful.

All these so called shooters always turn out to be brick layers in the playoffs. You have to be careful picking them. Korver is a choker. No thanks.

I realize this post was meant for another thread, but to critisize KOC for wanting to "leave it just the way it is" before we've even had a chance to see how the draft lottery, draft, free agency, and trades all play out is, well, really stupid.

fixed.

Jefferson's existence is not a prerequisite for adding 3-pnt shooters. We need them, period.

True enough, but Jefferon being on the team makes it an even bigger priority IMO. Unlike Sap or Favors, he demands a near constant double team on the post which will allow our future (hopefully) 3 point shooters more room to operate.

Averaging 4 3pt attempts per game? He took 110 all year, or a little over 2 per games played. I'm sure sloan held him back.

The fact is he is an excellent shooter and decent defender. And he can play the 3.

Remember all those bricks CJ, Raja, Howard, and Hayward in the playoffs threw up even though they were wide open at the 3pt line? Remember all those technical free throws, or late-game FT's with a chance to ice a game the Jazz consistently missed? Don't need to throw him into a starting role but we've seen at 25 min/night Korver can really improve your team not only with his shooting, but with his floor spacing, end of game FT shooting, ball movement (extremely underrated passer) and while he's a below average individual defender IMO he's a very good team-defender.

Definitely worth kicking the tires and seeing if he's interested for a reasonable price.

Who is selfish and did not care about the Jazz winning. Yes bring that guy back.

Yeah, I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's important to hold grudges. I don't want anybody on my team who once did something that I didn't like. I'd rather root for a sucky 8th seed every year than compromise on my high standards.

Decent defender is an overstatement for Korver. He was a bad defender who played smart defense, but he was still bad at defense.

Is there something I'm missing about trying to sign Brandon Rush? You're going to have to put some serious bucks on the table, and is anyone really suggesting we throw $5 million+ per year at... Brandon Rush?
